The Pacers (23-27) will travel south to take on the Orlando Magic (17-34). Indiana is just outside playoff seeding in the 9 spot meanwhile Orlando is far away in 2nd to last in the Eastern Conference.
These teams only met once this season and it took place in Indiana on January 22nd. The game was an overtime thriller and the Pacers were able to hold on for a 120-118 victory. This game will look much different now post trade deadline with Orlando no longer having their three highest scorers Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vucevic, or Evan Fournier who were dealt away.
The Pacers might have to lean on their bench more than they’d like in Friday’s run-in with the Magic. Domantas Sabonis’ availability will be a game-time decision (ankle) while Malcolm Brogdon is being deemed questionable with a hip issue. Those are the Pacers’ top-two leading scorers.
Caris LeVert has been the leading scorer in back-to-back games. The Pacers might need the young star to live up to the “Baby Durant” nickname in this one.
They have to knock down shots, but more importantly, they need to force turnovers to keep Russell and company from getting comfortable. If Brogdon and Sabonis sit, there won’t be enough firepower for the team to win on offense alone.
Orlando needs a win after losing 16 of their last 20 games. They’re sitting in 2nd to last in the Eastern Conference, just below Washington.
The Orlando Magic are averaging 104.3 points on 43 percent shooting and allowing 111.3 points on 46.7 percent shooting.
Terrence Ross is averaging a team best 16 points and 3.4 rebounds as he is has been elevated to the teams best player. The Magic were active at the trade deadline and dealt all their best players and fully embraced the rebuild. Orlando got rid of back to back All-Star Nicola Vucevic to Chicago, former franchise face Aaron Gordon to Denver, and Evan Fournier to Boston.
Orlando has been terrible in the past with draft selections and they will need to do a better job going forward if they want to surround their young core.
NBA Betting Trends:
- Pacers are 6-5 SU in last 11 games
- Pacers are 3-5 ATS in last 8 games
- Pacers OVERS are 9-4 in last 13 games

Free Indiana Pacers vs. Orlando Magic NBA Prediction:
Neither of these teams have had productive seasons and aren’t a threat come playoff time. Indiana has struggled in their small market and have been dealing with recent injuries to some of their better players. Orlando finally embraced the rebuild and let go all of their best players for future assets as has been the trend for many lower teams lately.
This game is a toss up especially with no spread being released yet. Indiana does show more consistency though and Orlando has won just 4 games in their last 20 games. I’m taking the Pacers to win on the road.
