These teams just met on Wednesday, an expected Indiana win. They won by 10.
Now we are just a couple of days later so I am not sure what is really going to change. Indiana might not be elite but they are pretty consistent.
Charlotte is going to be a high variance team all season I think. They can look really good but only under ideal circumstances.
Indiana Pacers
After a short injury absence, the Pacers got Damontas Sabonis back in the win on Wednesday. He looked great posting a triple-double.
Jeremy Lamb, who had looked so good against Toronto the game before was placed in the starting lineup. He struggled though.
The change knocked Doug McDermott to the bench. In the short term that move was brilliant as he led all scorers with 28 points. So the role is likely to continue.
Indiana is still without T.J.Warren so they are looking for scoring at the small forward spot. Between those two players, they should be able to get something from game to game
Malcolm Brogdon is having his best season yet scoring 22ppg. I love the way he picks his spots and he might be an All-Star for the first time this season.
Myles Turner is also having his best season even if he leaves you wanting more. Once again he is leading the league in blocks and at 14ppg the scoring is solid.
Indiana is the better team. Playing Charlotte back to back is not going to expose them in any way.
Charlotte Hornets
Charlotte also changed up their lineup in the last game subbing in Cody Zeller for Bismack Biyombo. The move was to get more offense into the lineup. Zeller was just fine, putting up a double-double.
The Hornets have plenty of offense with their trio on the perimeter of Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham. Game to game it often comes down to whether the latter two are on or off their game.
When they are on they can be explosive scorers. Rozier’s game has a little bit of everything and he is super aggressive. Graham is more of a one trick pony. He knows he has to make shots to stay in the league and is not shy about taking them.
Miles Bridges was a terrible -30 in the previous game. With much production from him the bench gets really short very quickly. Rookie Lamelo Ball is still trying to figure out how to play well in the NBA.
NBA Betting Trends:
- Pacers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a road favorite.
- Pacers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Friday games.
- Pacers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games.
- Pacers are 3-9 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Charlotte.
Free Indiana Pacers vs. Charlotte Hornets NBA Prediction:
The win on Wednesday naturally bumped up this line a bit. In these situations, it seems the oddsmakers are doing the obvious thing.
I think they may have to start adjusting more significantly. In this one, the Pacers needing just a couple of buckets to win is still good value.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Pacers -3.5
Indiana is far from elite. However, they have a great idea of what they want to do every game. I don’t get that sense from Charlotte so playing them twice in a row may not be advantageous at all.
