Looking for 2019 Indiana Pacers Predictions? The Indiana Pacers are coming off a very good regular season in 18-19 going 48-34 and making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. They will want to forget about what happened in the playoffs, though, as they were swept in an uninspired playoff series against the Boston Celtics. They now face a tough challenge without Victor Oladipo for at least the first few months of the season and will look to keep themselves afloat in his absence.

The Pacers management have decided to go for a bit of an overhaul this offseason as they must have felt the core they had was not going to cut it in the later rounds of the playoffs. They moved on from players mostly through free agent with one of the exceptions being Collison who decided to call it a career.
There is a lot of reason to be hopeful about this team, though, with Malcolm Brogdon coming over from the Bucks bringing over 15.6 points per game and who possesses great skill from the 3 point line. They also got TJ Warren from the Suns who was solid last year averaging 18 points.
Will Nate Mcmillan’s team, who has been consistently labeled a dark horse, now be ready to breakthrough?
Indiana Pacers Strengths:
Overall Team Offense
Most people see the name Indiana Pacers and instantly think of a stout defense, but I can see this being a very sound offensive team this year and believe it will be good enough to change the defensive label. One of the big problems for the Pacers last year was 3 point shooting.
I think that changes here this year with the additions of Brogdon and Warren who are both very good from the 3 point line. With the strength on the interior that this team has it is not hard to imagine plenty of kick outs to wide open players for high percentage 3 point looks.

Versatility
The Indiana Pacers have a lot of players who can play multiple positions effectively and that is especially true with a guy like Malcolm Brogdon who has great size and can easily defend positions 1-3. Victor Oladipo, when he comes back, is also able to defend positions 1-3 and also has versatility on the offensive side of things as an athletic freak and a 6ft 4in frame.
That versatility on the defensive side of the ball will be really important as they don’t have one guy who can lock down the superstars in the Eastern Conference like Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Indiana Pacers Weaknesses:
Lack of ”The Guy”
I know Victor Oladipo is an awesome player who is likely going to be in the All-Star game for years to come. He is not, however, one of those elite players that everything on the team runs through like Giannis, Kawhi, Lebron, Harden or Curry.
You seem to need at least one of these uber-elite talents to win it all and maybe the well-rounded approach the Pacers are going for might not be the way to the Larry O’brien trophy.

So for a team without any real glaring weaknesses, the fact that they are so well rounded might end up being their downfall as this team seems capped somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd round.
Indiana Pacers Betting Prediction: 45-37
I think this team will more or less win as many games as it did last year. I have brought their win total back 3 games because I think not having Oladipo for the first few months of the season will likely cost them at least a couple of games. They will have plenty of games against weak competition, though, as their division is pretty weak and the level of the eastern conference is also bad compared to the teams out west.
My exact prediction for how this season goes is that the Pacers start out slow hanging a little below the .500 mark before putting it together later in the season. I think they get into the playoffs in the 5th or 6th seed and probably lose to a team like the Celtics or Nets in the first round of the playoffs. That will once again force the Pacers management back to the drawing board going into the 20-21 season.
