Although the Toronto Raptors are firmly on the outside looking in with regards to the playoff race, they will look to defend their temporary home court this Friday against the Golden State Warriors who will be hungry to pick up the victory and keep themselves in contention.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors just recently got Steph Curry back from a tailbone injury and his affect was immediate, as he scored 32 points last time against the Bulls in an eventual 116-102 victory.
Draymond Green has been back for awhile now off of his injury and he has not really been able to find his old form averaging a stat line around 8/8/8 on over 30 minutes of floor time, but the important thing to remember is how good Green is on the defensive side of things and in that department he has been able to help this team out a bit.
Andrew Wiggins would be the guy to look out for other then Steph, as he has been shooting the lights out in his last 10 games averaging over 22 points per game on over 55% 3 point shooting and while those numbers may not be sustainable, he should have an awesome matchup to keep this streak of good games going here against the Raptors.
Handicapping the Raptors going forward this next few weeks is going to be a bit tough, as I think a lot of these guys might be lacking motivation a bit given the fact the Raptors season is effectively finished and the trade of Norman Powell who was much loved in that locker room.
It is tough for things to get much worse for Toronto though, as they have been abysmal as of late winning just one of their last 14 games straight up. It really is a bit tough to think this kind of skid was possible for this Raptors squad as they still have plenty of talent with guys like Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and of course Kyle Lowry.
It is important to note in this game that Kyle Lowry will miss this one with an injury that is expected to keep him out at least another week, so even more of the onus will fall onto the shoulders of VanVleet in the back court.
NBA Betting Trends:
- Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
- Warriors are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
- Raptors are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
- Raptors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest.
- Raptors are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
- Raptors are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
Free Golden State Warriors vs. Toronto Raptors NBA Prediction:
The Warriors will come into this game with much more hunger than the Toronto Raptors and I think they will be able to have this game in hand sometime in the 3rd quarter. I cannot see the Raptors holding up offensively with a Warriors team who can still shoot the lights out and that is especially true given the way Andrew Wiggins is shooting the ball.
