On Saturday, March 20th two teams jockeying for playoff positions in the Western Conference will meet as the Golden State Warriors will travel east to take on the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Center. It is the second game of a weekend back to back. Golden State is currently the 9th seed and has a game and a half up lead over the 10th place Memphis Grizzlies.
Last night the teams faced off as Golden State jumped out to a 19 point halftime lead and held on to win 116-103 despite the absence of their best player Steph Curry. Andrew Wiggins took his game to another level scoring a season high 40 points on 14-24 shooting and 6-11 from 3PT range along with grabbing 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Draymond Green recorded a rare non scoring double double with 13 assists and 11 rebounds.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies have recorded just two wins of their 6 games post All-Star break.
They bounced back from a three-game losing streak to beat the surging Miami Heat 95-89 in their last game. Ja Morant scored a go ahead scoop layup in the final seconds of the game to lead his team to a much-needed win. He scored 13 points on the night to go with 6 assists and 4 rebounds.
In last nights loss Memphis struggled in the first half and were never able to make up the difference. Jonas Valanciunas had a double double with 10 points and a game high 16 rebounds.
The Memphis Grizzlies will continue to be without Jaren Jackson Jr., who is dealing with a knee injury. The power forward hasn’t featured for the Grizzlies this season.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors had a shaky start to their second half of the campaign and have won three games out of five since the All-Star break.
In their last matchup, Andrew Wiggins took his game to another level scoring a season high 40 points on 14-24 shooting and 6-11 from 3PT range along with grabbing 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Draymond Green recorded a rare non scoring double double with 13 assists and 11 rebounds. Jordan Poole chipped in with a season high 25 points.
For the Golden State Warriors, rookie James Wiseman and Eric Paschall have been ruled out due to the league’s health and safety protocols. Meanwhile, superstar Stephen Curry is listed as ‘day-to-day’ after sustaining a tailbone contusion in the Rockets game and missed last nights contest and is unlikely for Saturday’s game.

Free Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors NBA Prediction
These teams have not yet played this season so that makes predicting this matchup a challenge. Both are young teams and feature #2 overall draft picks in Ja Morant (2019) and James Wiseman (2020).
This is the second game of a weekend back to back between the two sides and Memphis has the home court but that doesn’t mean much as team hasn’t done great at home (8-14) but neither has Golden State on the road (9-13). The equal road/home record makes this matchup even less predictable.
Golden State is in the 9 spot and is a game and a half up over the 10 seed Grizzlies therefore this next game could play a huge factor in positioning.
Last night the Warriors won thanks to the hot hand of Andrew Wiggins but I don’t see that happening in back to back games. The Grizzlies had a solid second half and I expect them to carry that momentum and energy into the Saturday night matchup.
