Golden State Warriors
Golden State will play its third game in four days on Thursday in Houston. The Warriors lost in overtime to the Clippers on Monday and beat the Hawks on Tuesday.
The win over Atlanta wasn’t easy, though. The Hawks led at the half but the Warriors took control, as they often do, in the third quarter.
They were without Steph Curry, who is expected to return for this game against Houston after resting his sore left groin muscle for the last three games.
Draymond Green should also be back after a one-game suspension that followed his missing three games with a sprained toe.
The suspension has been the big news around the club. It stemmed from an incident with Kevin Durant after Green rebounded a ball in overtime against the Clippers and, instead of passing to Durant, took the ball coast-to-coast and ended up turning it over.
Apparently, there were words and Green went too far. He sat the Hawks game and, presumably, the two stars have cleared the air. For as mercurial as Green is, he always does make things right whenever he and a teammate have a spat. It’s part of what makes the Warriors great.
Carmelo Anthony missed a third consecutive game on Tuesday in Denver and the Rockets won their second in a row.
The Rockets and Melo are going to part ways; it’s simply a matter of when. Houston is trying to waive him and in the meantime, it has listed him out with an illness.
Gary Clark and James Ennis are picking up most of Melo’s minutes for now. Remember, Anthony was supposed to take Trevor Ariza and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute’s minutes, who both left in free agency in the off-season.
That small forward position is still an issue but keeping Anthony around wasn’t a long-term option. Give the Rockets some credit for admitting their mistake early and trying to fix it, rather than let it fester.
Mike D’Antoni’s rotation is really down to six regulars now, however. James Harden, Chris Paul, Clint Capela, James Ennis, PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon are playing huge minutes, which just isn’t an option for the long-haul, if Houston wants to have anything left come playoff time. Expect the Rockets to make a move after sorting Anthony.

Free Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets NBA Prediction: Golden State.
Houston might have more at stake in this game but this will be a special game for the Warriors because of the Green situation. I’m looking for a vintage performance out of the Dubs.
