Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors Odds & Last 5
The Pistons have owned the Raptors recently, sweeping them last season and holding a seven-game winning streak versus the Dinos, including the initial meeting this season.
Detroit followed up a four-game losing streak with its current active three-game winning streak. They remain the top-ranked Eastern Conference squad with a record of 48-18. The Celtics trail them by 4.5 games. This is the first of a three-game road trip.
Toronto is 2-3 through their last five contests, and looked like they’d given up in the recent game in New Orleans. Flash forward to a coach-led rallying speech and Toronto appeared more like their identity versus the Suns. They moved back up to the sixth seed and possess a 37-29 record.
Detroit is favored by 3.5 points with an over/under of 221 points.
Pistons Stats
Detroit ranks ninth offensively (116.8), second defensively (108.8), and second in net rating (+8,0) while running a pace of 100.12, which ranks 18th in the association.
The East’s top-place Pistons average 27.0 assists (12th) and 45.9 rebounds (seventh). Detroit scores 117.4 points per game while its opponents average 109.6 points.
Team leaders* in the key categories are Cade Cunningham for scoring (24.7), assists (10.1), and steals (1.5), while Jalen Duren leads rebounding (10.6), and Isaiah Stewart leads for blocks (1.6).
Perimeter scoring is a weakness for the Pistons, who shoot with an efficiency of 34.8% as a team, with five players shooting over the league average.

The East’s sixth seed averages 113.5 points per game while its opponents average 111.9 points. In terms of dimes and boards, Toronto averages 28.8 (fifth) and 42.4 (24th), respectively.
Toronto’s team leaders are Brandon Ingram for scoring (21.7 points), Immanuel Quickley for assists (6.0), Scottie Barnes for rebounds (7.8), steals (1.4), and blocks (1.5).
As for the perimeter, Toronto struggles from deep shooting an average of 34.6% while five* players shoot above the league average.

Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors bottom line:
The odds seem low given the Pistons have literally smacked the Raptors in the last seven meetings. Their size and grit have been too much for the Raptors to even come close to being competitive in their matches.
Perhaps the prospect of Detroit missing Isaiah Stewart and possibly Asur Thompson is the reason, but Toronto still won’t have Collin Murray-Boyles and is particularly thin up front.
Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors Basketball Betting Trends
- Detroit is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games.
- Detroit is 15-4 SU in its last 19 games against an Eastern Conference opponent
- Detroit is 14-6 SU in its last 20 games.
- Also, Toronto is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Toronto’s last 6 games
- Additionally, Toronto is 3-6 SU in its last 9 games.
Pistons Raptors Free Pick: Pistons -3.5
Here is my Pistons Raptors free pick.
Toronto struggles against the upper echelon, only having wins against three teams (OKC, Cleveland, Phoenix) in that group. They excel versus the mid and lower tiers but seem to implode in fourth quarters when the opponent flicks the switch to lock down and get aggressive.
Detroit, on the other hand, excels at flipping that switch and will be tough for the Raptors to stop, especially if they win the glass and don’t turn over the ball.
Protecting the paint will be key in this meeting as the Pistons rank first at scoring there. The Raptors hold teams to the eighth-worst scoring in the paint.
To that end, both teams excel at forcing turnovers and then scoring, ranking second (Detroit) and sixth (Toronto), respectively. Moreover, the Raptors rank fifth-best at fewest opponent points scored off turnovers, while the Pistons rank eighth.
Ultimately, this is just a bad matchup for the Raps, and therefore, I’ll look for the Pistons to win and cover the spread.
