There is some concern that this club, which typically sits first or second in offensive rating, enters this match with the 22nd-ranked offense.
Fortunately, they face the Suns, who rank 17th offensively but dead last in defensive rating.
If there is a surprising positive to take away from the early play it’s the Nuggets defense has been better than recent seasons as they sit 16th overall.
Depth will be an issue, however, and Cam Johnson remains out for the Nuggets. On the bright side, rookie Trevon Brazile looks to be a real find from the second round, as he’s already overachieving with 9.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
