It has been a slow start for Denver and it is embarking a three-game East Coast swing that could be easier.
The Nuggets play at the Sixers, Knicks and Nets in the span of four days, beginning Saturday afternoon.

Luka Doncic torched Denver on Thursday in a seven-point Dallas victory. He scored 38 points, dished out 13 assists and came a rebound shy of a triple-double. He was two turnovers away from making it a quadruple, too.
The Nuggets continued to play without Michael Porter Jr., who is in health protocol with no timetable to return. Porter’s absence has left them dangerously thin.
Head Coach Mike Malone used Isaiah Hartenstein for about five minutes against the Mavericks as the fourth guy off the bench but a nine-man rotation is all Denver is managing at the moment.
As a result, both Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are playing more than 36 minutes per game, on average, up from about 32 per game last season.
Jokic is certainly making the most of the usage. He’s averaging a triple-double on nearly 58 percent shooting from the field.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, has lost just twice and both of them came on the second night of a back-to-back.
The most recent of those was the last time out, in Brooklyn. Leaving it at that would be misleading. The Nets were without both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and still won by 13 points.
Shake Milton led the Sixers with 24 points in his first start of the season. Seth Curry, who had started every game to that point, missed the game with an ankle injury and is listed as day-to-day.
As good as Jokic has been for Denver, Joel Embiid is scoring nearly as much for Philly on better than 52 percent shooting himself. Those two sharing a court makes this one a can’t-miss.

Free Denver Nuggets vs. Philadelphia 76ers NBA Prediction: Philly by a couple.
This one should be hotly contested. Malone has come out and made some critical comments in the media this week and Denver is already playing to stay relevant in the playoff chase out West.
But Philadelphia plays with some force and won’t take the Nuggets lightly. In fact, the Sixers are just a little more powerful and so I make them very slight favorites here.
Also, look for a shootout.
