They each may not be where they want to be in their respective conference standings, but Tuesday’s Denver at Milwaukee matchup is still a potential NBA Finals preview. The Nuggets are on short rest on the road though.
Both teams are streaky, and the Bucks are currently on the positive aspect of that run winning five in a row. Denver has wins in three of their last four, but also burned up some minutes in a 118-112 win over the Bulls on Monday.
Denver Nuggets
Denver is on the back to back, and they’ve been all over the country in the last 10 days with a loss in Atlanta, a split at home, a big win in OKC, and then outlasting the Bulls.
The Nuggets are good at 18-15, but they aren’t dominant. That’s especially true on the road where Michael Malone’s team is just 9-8 on the season. The Bucks meanwhile are 10-5 at home, and have been there awhile.
Of course Nikola Jokic always presents a matchup problem, especially for the Bucks who aren’t exactly strong defensively vs. the C position. Jokic had 39/14/9 vs. the Bulls on Monday, but also played 38+ minutes.
The Bulls kept things close against the Nuggets on Monday, helping their conference foe Milwaukee. Every Denver starter logged 33+ minutes as they’re a bit shorthanded without Jamychal Green, Gary Harris, and Paul Millsap among others.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks are getting closer to the all-star break and a well-deserved refresh. The Bucks actually have to go on the road one last time on Thursday, but that will be their first away swing in the last 8 games after the Denver matchup.
Milwaukee started this home stand with two straight losses to the Raptors. They’ve rebounded nicely though, winning five straight and definitely able to push that to six straight vs. a road weary Nuggets squad.
Denver also just got hit by some COVID concerns, with Facundo Campazzo and Markus Howard missing the Bulls game due to contact tracing. The powers that be don’t usually let you hop back in the lineup the next day.
The Bucks just look too deep in this one. Denver hasn’t been great defending PGs lately, and Jrue Holiday will shake off the rust from his 2 point performance after a 3-week layoff vs. the Clippers on Sunday.
NBA Betting Trends:
- Nuggets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall
- Nuggets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog
- Over is 13-5 in Nuggets last 18 road games
- Bucks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games
- Over is 7-3 in Bucks last 10 home games
- Nuggets are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Milwaukee
Free Denver Nuggets vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA Prediction:
Two great teams, but ultimately Denver is in over their skis in this one. Jokic is tired, the Nuggets are injured, Denver has contact tracing as well, and can’t defend the point.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Bucks -6.5
This one gets into double digits. Denver is beat up and banged up not to mention coming in off 0 days rest. Milwaukee is rolling right now and wants to take that momentum at least into the all-star break.
