Indiana Pacers
TJ McConnell won’t make any All-Star teams or All-Defensive teams but his play on Wednesday propelled the Pacers to victory with a special benchmark for the guard.
McConnell registered a triple-double that included 10 steals along with 16 points and 13 assists. He entered the history books with nine of those steals occurring in one half and the 10 steals are the most by a Pacers player ever.

McConnell sparked the Pacers to erase a 19 point deficit augmented by the 35 points they collected off Cavaliers’ turnovers. Malcolm Brogdon led the team in scoring with 29 points while All-Star teammate Domantas Sabonis chipped in 18 points.
Doug McDermott (12), Myles Turner (12), and Jeremy Lamb (11) were the other double-figure contributors.
Several Pacers played in spite of nagging injuries Sabonis has a sore ankle, McDermott had dental surgery and Lamb is dealing with a sore knee. Given the back-to-back scenario these players might be out Thursday or at worst their minutes closely monitored.
Some more good news is the Pacers noted Caris LeVert (kidney) may make his debut in late March which should align with TJ Warren’s return and will make bolster the Pacers talent and depth.
