The Toronto Raptors appear to have finally gotten things back on track after stringing together back-to-back wins to close out their recent five-game road trip, but they’re about to face a tougher class of competition when they play host to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday evening.
The Cavaliers come in averaging 113.7 points per game in reeling off three consecutive victories of their own, and currently reside atop the Eastern Conference standings by a comfortable margin when one considers how early in the season we still are.
The Cavaliers shot 53.1 percent from the field in putting together a 117-103 victory over the Orlando Magic on Monday. Kevin Love handled the bulk of the scoring load in that one, with LeBron James helping to facilitate the offense.
Love put up 34 points on 11 of 18 shooting, knocking down 6 of 9 attempts from beyond the arc, adding eight boards and four assists. At one point, Love scored 17 points in a row for the Cavs.
LeBron scored an efficient 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting, adding 13 assists and six boards, putting together the game’s only double-double.
The Raptors have a big injury to deal with as center Jonas Valanciunas suffered a broken hand in the team’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers when his hand was swatted by Kobe Bryant on a drive to the basket.
The team’s bigs stayed strong against the Los Angeles Clippers as the team held Blake Griffin to a season-low nine points.
That 91-80 victory over the Clippers completed the Raptors’ sweep of the Staples Center. Bismack Biyombo started and played 31 minutes, racking up 14 boards.
DeMar DeRozan and DeMarre Carroll each scored 21 points, while Kyle Lowry had 13 points and 10 assists.

Free NBA Prediction:
The Raptors seem to have gotten things turned around somewhat of late, but the step up to playing the Cavaliers just isn’t one they’re quite ready to make.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Cavaliers -1.5
The absence of Valanciunas also forces the Raptors to play small, which just plays right into the hands of the Cavaliers who would love to do the same.
A healthy Valanciunas might help the Raptors more than anything else here, but without the big Lithuanian, the Cavaliers should just keep right on rolling.
