The Bulls missed a chance to snap their losing streak before the upcoming road trip and will carry three consecutive losses with them to Milwaukee, the start of the next four on the road.
Chicago won’t return to the United Center until December 4. It plays in Detroit, Houston and Indianapolis after this one against the division-leading Bucks.
Lauri Markkanen and Bobby Portis are still out and the Bulls’ rebounding is suffering. Wendell Carter Jr. is going what he can as a rookie and leads the team with about seven boards per game. Jabari Parker is right there with him but would love to run the break a little bit more rather than hang back with the trees.
Zach LaVine is averaging twenty-five points per game and is coming off of twenty-eight in the one-point loss to San Antonio. Chicago isn’t doing a terrible job at maximizing what it has but there just isn’t nearly enough to work with at the moment. This is probably the worst team in basketball, in its current state.
Milwaukee showed how streaky it can be on Monday, especially as a shooting unit. The Bucks started the game with an absolute barrage of three-pointers, making eight out of their first ten deep ones.
The Bucks were up fourteen points before the first quarter was out but then Charlotte came back because it started hitting some shots and Milwaukee went cold. The Bucks made just eight of their next thirty-six three’s after making eight of ten.
Donte DiVincenzo came back after a five-game absence due to a lower body injury. He played eleven minutes off the bench and scored eight points.
Six Bucks had between eleven and twenty points in the game, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s twenty. That’s when they’re at their best. Keep the scoring balanced and the tempo up against the Bulls and this one shouldn’t be a problem.
