The Bulls have lost four in a row and the last three have all come on the road against decent teams. They’ll have to beat a decent team on the road on Tuesday if they want to avoid going winless on the trip.
That decent team is Indiana. The Pacers beat the Bulls in Chicago back in very early November. Victor Oladipo had twenty-five points and fourteen rebounds in that game. Chicago won’t have to deal with Oladipo in this game.
They will have to deal with the third Holiday brother, Aaron, the younger brother of Jrue and Justin, who plays for the Bulls. Justin starts for Chicago and scored eleven in the most recent loss to Houston.
Lauri Markannen scored ten points in twenty-six minutes in his return against Houston. He came off the bench but it won’t be long until he’s starting again.
Next for the Bulls is to get back Kris Dunn and Bobby Portis, who should be back sometime this month. Denzel Valentine is lost but Chicago should be able to make a little bit of a run when they get those other two guys back, so long as the rest stay healthy. And when I saw “run,” I mean get ahead of Atlanta.
Oladipo doesn’t have any structural damage in his knee but the Pacers announced this week that he’s going to stay out indefinitely, until the knee feels right.
He’s known for being a tireless worker in the offseason and between his full season last year, another heavy offseason of workouts and the start to this year, it’s no surprise he’s going through some knee problems now.
What’s good is that the Pacers appear to be taking the issue seriously and that they won’t rush their star back. That’s good for the long-term and the Pacers can manage it because the East is weak and they have tremendous depth. Oladipo hasn’t played in over two weeks and Indy is 3–3.
The Pacers have lost two in a row, both on the road to West Coast teams. Returning home to play the Bulls will be a welcomed change. They came a point short in Sacramento the last time out on Saturday night, despite double-digits from all five starters, plus Doug McDermott off the bench.

Free Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers NBA Prediction: I like the Pacers by double-digits.
Indiana is a team that gets it. Without Oladipo, it is no longer a team in the top half of the NBA, at least not definitively. It can still win plenty of ballgames, however. The Pacers won’t take the Bulls lightly and they will win this game at home by ten-ish.
