Two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum open gameplay on Sunday as the Brooklyn Nets travel to play the San Antonio Spurs.

Brooklyn is in full-on tank mode, even bragging in their local paper that this season is dedicated to tanking for the top pick.

San Antonio, meanwhile, should be mid-way through a rebuild, but with Victor Wembanyama looking like he’s not going to wait another year, the team has seemingly gathered around him to vie for a playoff spot this year.

Head-to-head last season, the Spurs took both meetings and hold a current three-game win streak over Brooklyn.

Brooklyn was 1-2 in the preseason and enters this season with two losses already accumulated (Hornets, Cavaliers).

San Antonio had an excellent preseason, registering a 4-0 record and has won both opening games of the season against the Mavericks and Pelicans.
