Brooklyn Nets
The Nets fell apart a bit in the 3rd quarter of their last game with the 76ers allowing Philadelphia to put up 43 points in that quarter which eventually led to the loss. They also allowed the 76ers to shoot for 51.1% from the field and that poor defense might not matter a ton here on Tuesday, but with the expectations on the Nets this year it is something to be worried about for Nets fans going forward.
The Nets have been without Kevin Durant due to covid related issues, but it is being reported that he will be rejoining the squad on Friday, so there are reasons to be excited for the Nets going forward.
In terms of if they will get the job done here in terms of the spread comes mainly down to motivation which is tough to quantify, but I think they will have enough reason to run up the score here on the Pistons with this team being noncompetitive in their last game.
Detroit Pistons
Detroit gave the Lakers a run for their money last time out losing to the defending champion Lakers by only a 6 point margin. That double overtime 135-129 loss was one of this teams’ best performances of the year with Jerami Grant putting up a ton of offense with 32 points. Josh Jackson was also incredible off of the bench putting up 28 points and shooting 50% from three against this usually tough Lakers defense.
That will likely be a bit of an issue here for the Pistons, as they had so much emotion and effort tied up in that last game against the Lakers it might be tough for them to bring that same intensity here against the Nets.
The Pistons also have a slew of injuries with a lot of guys being listed as day to day, so be sure to check the starting lineup and injury report prior to tip-off, as their may be some moving pieces in this game.

I think the Nets will come out and hammer the Pistons, as I just do not see the Pistons being able to bring that same intensity as they did against the Lakers, and the Nets have plenty to play for coming in here after a bad loss to the 76ers and an embarrassing loss to a bad Toronto raptors team. This also feels like it could be a James Harden nuclear day with a soft defense in front of him and urgency to put up big numbers with Kevin Durant returning shortly.
Another piece of news too is the status of Kyrie Irving, as he also is on the injury report with a finger, but he is listed as probable so he should play, but once again something to keep your eye out for before locking a bet in.
