Thursday, December 27 finds the Boston Celtics meeting up vs. Houston Rockets as they meet for the first time in the 2018-19 regular season. Both teams come off big wins from the NBA Christmas Day spectacular with the Rockets coming from behind to beat the Thunder. The Celtics needed overtime but registered the victory over the 76ers.

Prior to Chris Paul’s recent hamstring injury, the Rockets were 0-5 in games he missed. But, James Harden suddenly resembles the MVP of last season as he’s willing his squad to victories.

That’s precisely what happened in the contest versus the Thunder who led by eight points at the half but Harden fueled his squad to the win behind his 41 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

Since the loss to Utah on December 6, Harden has scored over 30 points in all but one game (29 vs. Portland). The bad news for Houston is he may miss this game due to a bruised calf sustained during the Thunder game. If he can’t go the Rockets will be in tough without either of their stars.

Paul is expected to miss between two and four weeks. James Ennis will be out until early January.
