The Atlanta Hawks need to get going if they are going to be making a run at the playoffs and they will be hoping that their run starts here on Tuesday as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
Atlanta Hawks
Trae Young led his Atlanta Hawks with 35 points in a massive win last time out taking down a rock-solid Denver Nuggets team by a score of 123-115. Clint Capela made an important contribution in that game against Denver putting up a double-double with 22 points and if he can consistently put up offense this team could become much more dynamic on the offensive side of things.
That was a rare bright spot for the Atlanta Hawks, though, as they have only gone 3-8 in their last 11 and they are only still in the mix in terms of their division because of the poor teams playing in the Southeast this year.
I think the majority of the offense will need to come from Trae Young against the Cavs, as I am not sure guys like John Collins will be able to have a ton of success on the inside given the individual defensive matchup. That is also considering that Drummond will not be playing here, but it still seems that guards are having the most success against the Cavaliers, so this will be Trae Young’s game to win.
Cleveland Cavaliers
Drummond is not injured, but the Cavaliers are not planning on playing the big man as they look to shop him around for a trade, but as usual keep an eye on the news ticker for actives and inactives. That is a bit of a shame for Cavaliers fans, as Drummond was making a real impact for this team finding his Detroit Pistons form, but management appears to think the draft picks will be better for the organization going forward.
The management might be correct as well with the Cavaliers blowing their season away over their last 10 games losing every single one of those games in a brutal run of losses. Their last game was a loss to OKC where they actually played pretty decent, but they were unable to find their stroke from 3 point range shooting around 22% from deep which is obviously not going to get the job done.

I know Drummond is not going to be going here, but this seems like too big of a spread, as I do not think the Cavs will continue to shoot so poorly from deep especially against a team who is not all that great defensively like the Hawks. I can see Collin sexton going toe to toe with Trae Young here and 7 points seems really generous in a game which I feel could go either way.
It looks as though the betting public is agreeing with me as well, as we have 50/50 action in terms of betting volume early on which is a surprisingly high amount of action for a team who is on a 10 game losing skid.
