It’s the Jersey Mike’s Jamaica Classic! LSU alumni and maybe even some Utah State superfans will be just 90 miles south of Miami in beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica for some sand, some sunshine, and some holiday hoops.

The Tigers had their longest NCAA Tournament run since 2006 last season when they lost in the Sweet Sixteen.
That team leaned a lot on Tremont Waters and Naz Reid was a dynamic athlete who took the leap to the pros after just one college season.
Skylar Mays is the lone big gun left over from that team and he’s leading this year’s squad with seventeen points per game.
Trendon Watford, a 6’9″ forward out of Birmingham, comes in as the #17 freshman in the class of 2019 and he’s producing through four games with 12.5 points per game and another seven rebounds.
Utah State Aggies
Utah State is for real. It made the NCAA Tournament out of the Mountain West for the first time in 2019. It had last been in the Big Dance in 2011 representing Western Athletic Conference.

Last season’s success was Craig Smith’s first year as the Head Coach. This season will be his second and he returns just about everybody from last year’s team, including Sam Merrill.
The senior averaged over twenty points per game last season and he’s up around eighteen this season with 4.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
But Utah State’s best pro prospect and certainly its best player is sophomore center Neemias Queta, who stands 7′ from Portugal.
But Queta hasn’t appeared in a game yet this season after being named to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar preseason watchlist and I can’t figure out why.
There is news from back over the summer about him injuring his knee in an international game against Russia but nothing else. I’m not sure what’s going on with him. Anyone?
