Kansas and West Virginia come into this matchup as two really unknown teams, both having really bad losses on the season while seemingly being bottom of the Big 12 dwellers. Both teams coming off of huge wins against Boston College and NC State respectively.
Kansas has been at the bottom of the Big 12 for almost a decade but is looking to turn the program around under Les Miles. Senior QB Carter Stanely leads Kansas with almost 600 passing yards will be the key for the Jayhawks on Saturday and will be leaned on heavily against West Virginia’s weak secondary.

West Virginia will throw the ball all over the field being a pass-heavy offense. Austin Kendall comes into the game with a 64.49% completion percentage for the Mountaineers and looks to knock the Jayhawks out at home.
Kansas Jayhawks
Kansas is coming off a huge road win at Boston College. Whether this game was a true showing of how the Jayhawks can really play consistently is an unknown so far, but having a senior at the helm should help the Jayhawks turn things around.
The Jayhawks have also only given up 17 ppg thus far through the three games that they have played early this season. To stop West Virginia they will have to be way more disciplined in stopping the relentless passing attack of West Virginia. Kansas has really played a bend but don’t break style defense, giving up a ton of yards, but yet not giving up very many points in each of their three games.

West Virginia will pose as the toughest game for the Jayhawks thus far giving everyone a glimpse of just how good the Jayhawks can be the rest of the way. Playing back in Lawrence after a huge win should play into the hand of Kansas although the attendance has been sparse the last few years.
West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia is in the middle of a rebuilding year. After their head coach left for the head gig at Houston, the Mountaineers have struggled to find true identity in their first couple of games. Coming out with a 2-1 record and a win against NC State really has shown just how good the Mountaineers can be, especially with Austin Kendall leading the passing attack.
Austin Kendall has six touchdowns to his three interceptions and will play a key role in taking home the win in Lawrence. Kendall will have to take care of the ball and distribute it against a pretty good Kansas secondary. West Virginia will be in trouble if the Jayhawks force them to be a one-dimensional team.

Khalil Herbert will be a key piece in this game, if the Jayhawks can get the running back going with already 350 yards on the ground in three games, the Mountaineers might be in trouble. I see West Virginia being able to score at will through the air with more talented wide receivers and taking this game on the road with ease.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: West Virginia -4.5.
West Virginia will see a different Kansas than they have in the past. Although they have won their last five meetings, Kansas has surprised some people this year with what looks to be a revitalized program and team around Les Miles
While the Mountaineers are 1-5 against the spread in the last six games, I expect them to cover against a much improved Jayhawk team even in a rebuilding year for them. We will see a lot of touchdowns on Saturday.
