The Jaguars will hold host to AAC team in the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday Night to open their brand new stadium in Mobile, Alabama. The Jaguars are already 1-0 in 2020 after taking down Southern Miss in their week one matchup. Tulane is also coming off a win against Southern Miss, but that was way back in January in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Tulane Green Wave
Saturday will mark the first game of the season for the Green Wave and they hope to start their season off with a win. It will be Willie Fritz’s fifth season as the head play-caller at Tulane and after back to back 7-6 seasons, he will try to break the 10 win mark for the first time in his career.
Unfortunately for Tulane, they are returning just four starters on offense including feature running back Corey Dauphine. Dauphine did suffer an injury earlier in camp and is ruled out for this week’s game leaving the work to a true freshman back in Tyjae Spears.
The Green Wave are still in search of a quarterback leading up to this game as they lost Senior QB Justin McMillian to graduation at the end of the 2019 season. As of right now, Keon Howard will be under center in Saturday’s game, but coach Fritz said that could change at any time if he starts to struggle.

On defense, Tulane surrendered 377 yards per game last year and allowed 26.1 points per game ranking them 56th in all of college football. Thankfully on the defensive side of the ball, the Wave return seven starters including senior linebacker Patrick Johnson. In his last two years, he’s racked up 14.5 in 25 games to lead the team over that span.
South Alabama Jaguars
The Jaguars achieved their first road win in THREE years against Southern Miss in the opener. After the win opposing head coach, Jay Hopson resigned after the game because he thought the loss was disgraceful. Things are looking up for Steve Cambell’s crew as getting the first road win of his career is a step in the right direction.
Desmond Trotter played an excellent game throwing just short of 300 yards with 293 in the game and had two touchdowns against the Eagles. Junior Wideout Jalen Tolbert led the team in receiving yards with 167 against Southern Miss and scored both TD’s thrown by Trotter.
Defensively, the Jaguars did a really good job at stopping the run allowing just 95 rushing yards but did allow 312 yards through the air.
