We got another SEC matchup on our hands with Auburn looking to get back on track after falling out of the top 25 for the first time this season. The Tigers will travel to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium to take on the Ole Miss Running Rebels in Week 8 of the College Football season. Ole Miss is just 2-8 in the last 10 meetings between these teams and is 0-3 in the last three meetings.
Auburn Tigers
The Tigers will on the road again after an awful performance against South Carolina last week. Auburn was a three-point road favorite in the game and ended up losing outright to the Gamecocks by eight points. They put together a strong first quarter putting up nine points but after that, the Tigers only managed 13 points in the final three quarters.
Bo Nix looked terrible once again as he threw three picks in the game. Nix’s final stat line was that he completed 24 of 47 passes for 272 yards to go with just one touchdown and three interceptions on the day. Third downs have really been an issue for this Tigers offense as they are converting just 41.1% of third-downs this season. Also, three of four Bo Nix’s interceptions have come on third down so it shows that he is trying to force the ball to non-open receivers.
Overall on the season, Bo now has thrown for 869 yards and a 5:4 TD to INT ratio through four games. As a team, the Tigers are averaging 21.8 points per game and 217 total yards per game on offense.

Defensively, Auburn hasn’t looked sharp like in years past. They are giving up 391.3 yards per game this season through four games, and they have a +60 differential more yards allowed per game than last year’s mark.
Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss really struggled their last time out against Arkansas. The Rebels played a very mediocre game in the first half but did manage to make a second-half push and make it a game. Even though they lost the game Lane Kiffin’s offense outgained the Razorbacks by 48 yards so that’s something you can take away as a positive from this game.
The record doesn’t show it but the Rebels have been one of the best offensive teams in the country. They are scoring over 35 points a game against some of the toughest defenses in college football. Ole Miss averages 540.3 yards of offense per game so far through four games and they will most likely keep improving as their schedule gets easier.
Matt Corral has been pretty good to start the season except for the one start against Arkansas. Corral has completed 87 of 126 passes for 1280 yards to go along with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He is ninth in all of college football in passing yards with those 1280.

I like Ole Miss in this spot. Auburn hasn’t looked good all season and that’s mostly in part to Bo Nix not actually being good at quarterback. Nix was frisky in his freshman season, but people forgot how good their defense actually was last season. Ole Miss has the offense that can put up some points and after a disappointing loss to Arkansas, I think they have the ability to bounce back here and get a win at home against a struggling Auburn team. Don’t be surprised if you see a change at QB for the Tigers soon as Bo Nix is not getting the job done. Give me the Rebels and the points to cover.
