Week 15 college football sees Army and Navy meeting at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, December 11.
The Black Knights are favored by 7.5 points in this Army Navy matchup and the Commander-In-Chief trophy is not up for grabs! Army will be retaining the esteemed hardware associated with the military academies whether they win or lose this affair on Saturday afternoon in NJ.
Navy has lost to Air Force and Army came away with the win over the Falcons, so the best the Naval Academy can do is force a tie between the programs. That will leave the Cadets in charge for the 4th time in 5 years but we do have a game to play anyway.
Army is favored by a touchdown and the hook, but Navy is only trying to not get embarrassed again after the 15 – 0 shutout last season between these two teams.
It’s already been a down year for the 3 – 8 Naval Academy program so this will be their final game in 2021. To make matters a little worse, both Army and Air Force will be playing in Bowl Season as Navy will have to just sit this year out.
Army Black Knights
Well, it may not be a highly anticipated game as it usually is because the Commander-In-Chief trophy is a foregone conclusion, but it is still Army vs. Navy and it’s the only game being played this Saturday.
Army is just fine with not needing a win to retain the trophy in the Michie Stadium showcase another year. The Army West Point Sports Hall of Fame will enjoy another 365 days of staring at the glass-encased hardware made especially for the holding of the 170-lb beast!
Hey, have you heard yet? Oh, Army runs the ball a little bit in case you missed it. Hmm hmm, oh, that explains the #2 next to their ranking in rushing yards per game, doesn’t it?
I think even more impressive is the 35.5 points per game this team put up in 2021 which is good enough to be ranked 20th in the nation in scoring. And yet, here we are with a 34 on this total against a Navy defense that gave up just about 30 points a pop this year.
Christian Anderson has completed 21 of his 44 pass attempts in 2021 and he has 5 TD passes without a single pick against him. Now, we know that the passing game only comes when a team is selling out against the run, but even then Army doesn’t really give a shit if you know what’s coming.
Anderson has contributed another 519 rushing yards to go with 6 trips to the end zone and Tyrell Robinson is averaging a hella-impressive 10 runs per damn rush this year. Imagine?
Then, let’s throw in Mr. Jakob Buchanan who has toted the rock 111 times this season for 412 yards and 11 scores in the ground game. We do see Anthony Adkins listed as questionable, and he has certainly contributed his share of production to the team. Adkins has carried the ball 70 times and was seen in the end zone 5 times.
Army already knows that they will be participating in the Armed Forces Bowl against Missouri on December 22.
Navy Midshipmen
Well, where do we start, and are we glad that Navy is finished after this game? I mean, this team just came out of the gate unprepared as they lost their first 3 games and that led to a 1 – 6 record before those last couple of wins were found to put this program at 3 – 8.
At least there is a little momentum coming into this Army-Navy game after the 38 – 14 win over Temple last weekend. Actually, no one builds momentum after beating Temple so never mind, LoL
Hey, you know there is nothing to really look over here that will convince anyone that Navy will be competing with Army again this year. The 15 – 0 drubbing a season ago might just be leading to another version of a lopsided affair.
Navy is the 7th ranked rushing offense in college football, but the Army defense doesn’t give a rats ass how often Navy wants to run the rock. Army is ranked 11th against the run and they will gladly pin their ears back, stack the line of scrimmage, and see if Navy will have any balls to throw the pigskin around the MetLife field instead.
Tai Lavatai did show some solid efforts with that right arm of his here and there, however, so maybe there is a plan to see if he can change the dynamic to catch Army off guard.
Um, is it just me or am I reading the weather report wrong? 66 degrees and rainy on Saturday? Wait, 66 degrees? The rain we know will not bother either one of those offenses and I guess it might be unseasonably warm for this affair.
Isaac Ruoss didn’t have an outstanding day against Temple, but he did carry the ball 18 times for 66 yards and a pair of scores in the win. Carlinos Acie led the team with 86 rushing yards with his own trip to paydirt.
Lavatai wasn’t the only dude who got to throw a TD pass as Xavier Arline also threw a 15-yard TD pass completing his only pass attempt of the game. Arline fumbled twice to go with that lone pass and we don’t expect to see much of him today.

4* Free GAME NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
Oh, I hope it pours like the dickens on Saturday so these two offenses can have some fun. I know, we have seen more under in this series than you can even mention but I digress with this weather forecast in mind.
I see Army once again getting their average of 35 PPG and Navy will not get shutout IMO. I see a 38 – 16 game and that will get us over the number
