NBA DFS: Guards
Ben Simmons, PHI (@ BKN) Price: $8.8k DK, $9.0k FD
Ben Simmons is a dream pick Wednesday night.
Not only is Simmons playing against a Brooklyn nets team that creates more possessions than any team across the NBA, but he has extra motivation.
John Wall and Kevin Love are out for the All-Star Game. Andre Drummond is already taking over for the former; it’s highly likely Simmons takes over for the latter.
Combine that with the fact that his partner in crim, Joel Embiid, is sitting against the Nets and you have a perfect storm to take a player who, at sub-$9k, could have one of the highest point totals of the night.
Dennis Smith Jr., DAL (vs PHO) Price: $6.8k DK, $.8k FD
It’s tough not to pick Damian Lillard here. If you don’t go with Simmons, take the Trail Blazers point guard vs. the league’s worst defense against point guards, the Chicago Bulls.
If Lillard isn’t in the budget, Dennis Smith Jr. becomes a strong option. Phoenix, like the Nets above, is going to create a ton of extra possessions in this game, and Smith has an opportunity to take full advantage of an inexperienced Suns point guard, despite being inexperienced himself.
NBA DFS: Forwards
Bobby Portis, CHI (@ POR) Price: $5.9k DK, $4.5k FD
Fade. LeBron. James.
It’s rare we offer a full-on fade advice here. It’s even more rare we do it with LeBron as the target.
He’s going to be tempting on Wednesday with Kevin Love out and against his former team, the Miami Heat. But this Cavaliers squad is going to try (to hard) to get Isaiah Thomas involved in the offense. Odds are, it’s going to be a problem.
Bobby Portis, on the other hand, is a much cheaper option and is playing for a team where its best player in Nikola Mirotic is doubtful because of trade rumors.
What’s the big difference? Portis was performing at a high level before Mirotic returned—from a broken face, via Portis.
During the stretch Mirotci was sidelined, Portis found a ton of success.
Look for Portis to prove in this one that the Bulls can make Mirotic expendable.
Dirk Nowitzki, DAL (@ PHO) Price: $4.5k DK, $4.8k FD
If you’re looking for a true value pick on Wednesday night, Dirk Nowitzki is your guy.
Against Dallas, he’s going to have more opportunities to impact the game than usual, via Phoenix’s fast pace and poor defense. He represents everything that the Suns are not—meaningstability and maturity—but he should put up good numbers for his $4.5k cost.
NBA DFS: Centers
Dwight Howard, CHA (@ ATL) Price: $9.4k DK, $10.2k FD
Dwight Howard made it clear recently that he was stoked to play his former team, the Atlanta Hawks.
That’s right: The same former team thatnresides in his home town and traded him just one season into his tenture with the franchise.
How did he play, you ask? On Friday, Jan. 26, you ask? He went for 18 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks while hitting four of seven shots and an almost unbelievable 10-of-14 free-throws.
If you thought that showing was impressive…just wait and see what he does on Wednesday night when he visits ATL for the first time since being traded.

One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
