NBA DFS: Guards
Damian Lillard, POR [vs PHO] (DK: $9.3k, FD: $9.3k)
Tuesday night’s Portland vs. Phoenix matchup screams “Damian Lillard.”
This contest is one that the Blazers desperately need. After a terrible road trip, they’re back home and Lillard will be looking to get them back in the top eight of the Western Conference.
Although it’s almost always a smart move to pick at least one player from a Phoenix opponent (the pace and lack of defense create for big-time DFS performances), this one is especially tempting considering all the stars have aligned for a healthy Lillard to do serious work at the Moda Center.
Yogi Ferrell, DAL [@ DEN] (DK: $4.5k, FD: $5.3k)
If you’re going to draft a top-tier guard like Lillard, Yogi Ferrell should give you great value. He’s only scoring 20.0 FPTS (DK) per night this season, but with J.J. Barea currently out of the Mavericks’ lineup, he’s averaging 32.8 FPTS per contest in his last three.
NBA DFS: Forwards
Andrew Wiggins, MIN [@ ORL] (DK: $6.1k, FD: $6.5k)
If you can afford him, Jimmy Butler is going to be a great pick Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic. But if his $9.2k cost is too steep for your backcourt, Andrew Wiggins has potential to be a great selection at $6.1k.
Against the Magic, Wiggins and the Timberwolves are going up against a team that is just 23rd in FPTS allowed to forwards. Wiggins has been good for anywhere between 27 and 35 FPTS lately, but against inferior opponents who like to run, he’s been pushing 40-plus.
Dirk Nowitzki, DAL [@ DEN] (DK: $4.9k, FD: $5.0k)
Looking for another value pick? Look no further than Dirk Nowitzki.
The ageless wonder continues to put together strong performances in his age-39 season. It’s true that he’s prone to an off night now and again, but he’s also good for the occasional five-game span where he goes for 30-40 FPTS a night.
Against Denver—a team that creates extra possessions and almost refuses to play defense—look for him to be on top of his game. The Nuggets are just 24th this season when defending forwards, and Nowitzki should be able to put together an efficient showing as a result.
NBA DFS: Centers
Nikola Jokic, DEN [vs DAL] (DK: $8.7k, FD: $9.7k)
There are a number of top-tier centers in play Tuesday night. If you can afford DeMarcus Cousins, you should snag him. He’s going to cost you more than anyone on Tuesday’s slate, but he’s also going up against a Boston team that has struggled on defense since it’s elite start, especially against centers.
If you can’t afford Boogie, your best option is Nikola Jokic. Cheaper than DMC, Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns, he’s still going to be a threat to go off for 50 FPTS against a mediocre Dallas defense. This is a game where he can dominate the box score and impact the game in multiple categories.
Jusuf Nurkic, POR [vs PHO] (DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.0k)
A good mid-level center with high upside can be found in Jusuf Nurkic. As we mentioned with Lillard, he’s on a squad desperately trying to get back in the playoff picture. That should be possible Tuesday night, as the Suns are going to give up plenty of scoring opportunities while creating extra possessions with their pace.
NBA DFS Injuries

One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
