Chris Paul, HOU (vs GSW), $8.0k DK
Chris Paul has the luxury on Thursday night of not having to deal with Stephen Curry to chase around. James Harden is going to score more FPTS—there’s little debating that. But Paul should be the better value pick considering his $8.0k cost compared to Harden’s $10.7
Jamal Murray, DEN (vs ATL) $6.5k DK
What do you get when you take a point guard who is on a roll and a defense that can’t stop even a modest attack at the guard position? You get Jamal Murray. And a very easy choice as your second guard on Thursday night vs. Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
Tobias Harris, LAC (vs SAS), $7.2k DK
Tobias Harris is having himself a heck of a season. He’s not yet a household name among casual fans—large in part because he plays for L.A’s “other” team—but he’s someone you can rely on at an almost night-in, night-out basis.
On Thursday, Harris has a chance to exploit a Spurs team that many still think of as a defensive juggernaut because of their recent history and overall reputation. In reality, the team is just 28th at defending Harris’ position this season, making him a strong option despite his price tag being a little more than you might expect for a non-household name.
Danilo Gallinari, LAC (vs TOR), $5.8k DK
It’s not very often that we’re going to recommend stacking Clippers. But with this opponent, we can’t help ourselves.
On the year, Danilo Gallinari is averaging 30.9 FPTS per contest. He’s one of only two forwards on Thursday night who are averaging better than 30 while costing less than $6.0k—the other being Denver Nuggets guard/forward Will Barton, who has been ruled out of his contest against the Atlanta Hawks (another reason Jamal Murray—or even Gary Harris—works so well at the guard position).
Clint Capela, HOU (@ GSW) $7.0k DK
Clint Capela is a risky pick here, not because he himself is inherently risky but because he’s likely to see a lot of time against Draymond Green. Green is making his return from a one-game suspension following the story of the week: his drama with Kevin Durant. Either Green is going to motivated to the point that you absolutely have to take him here at the center position…or he’s going to be so full of emotion that he can’t contain himself and blows up in a bad way. If you’re not feeling it because of the risk, you should avoid both. But if you’re feeling one versus the other, let it be Capela.
One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
