Dwyane Wade (vs CHI), $5.4 DK, $5.3k FD
Dwyane Wade represents a risk on most nights considering his increasing age and decreasing role, but one thing we can say about him and his Miami Heat is that when he’s in the game, the offense runs through him and nobody else in order to maximize his value.
On Thursday, Wade is going up against his second former team in as many contests. He’s posting 30.5 FPTS per contest over his last two, and against the tanking Chicago Bulls, there’s no reason to expect he’ll fall below that mark.
Reggie Jackson, DET (vs WSH) $4.8k DK, $5.3k FD
In the interest of saving some serious cash for the forward position (more on that later), we’re looking for low-cost players at our second guard position. But the truth of the matter is that Reggie Jackson is someone we’d target regardless of his cost against a Washington team that’s average at best when defending his position—not to mention the fact that he’s posting 27.75 FPTS per night over list last two contests.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (@ GSW), $10.6k DK, $11.2k FD
There aren’t enough value players in the world to justify taking both Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo on Thursday. But the truth is that you can’t go wrong regardless of which one you pick—so long as you do in fact pick one.
At this juncture, we’re leaning toward The Greek Freak for a few reasons. For starters, he’s completely healthy. Odds are Durant is healthier than the Warriors have led on in recent days, so we’re leaning a bit more on the fact that Antetokounmpo, a once presumed MVP candidate, is looking to prove his team can contend and that he is an elite talent.
Durant has proven those things night after night year after year, but Giannis, who only has two more national TV games remaining—including this one—needs to persuade the casual fans before the year comes to a close.
Paul George, OKC (@ SAS), $7.9k DK, $7.7k FD
Paul George may or may not be a viable option for you if you take Giannis, depending on how you spend the rest of your budget. But at sub-$8k, he’s a very reasonable second-best player.
Against San Antonio, he should take full advantage of the fact that Kawhi Leonard is out and LaMarcus Aldridge is questionable.
Pau Gasol, SAS (vs OKC) $5.4k DK, $4.6k FD
Pau Gasol would be a strong choice against OKC even if LaMarcus Aldridge’s status wasn’t in question. Carmelo Anthony, who is pretending to play the 4 this season, will be tough to defend, but will also have a near-impossible time stopping the veteran Spaniard.
The fact that LMA is doubtful means Gasol’s production should only improve.
- Stephen Curry/Klay Thompson, GSW, G (OUT) [UPGRADES: Kevin Durant, Quinn Cook]
- LaMarcus Aldridge, SAS, F/C (QST) [UPGRADES: Pau Gasol]
One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
