Jeff Teague, MIN (vs LAL), $6.2 DK, $6.7k FD
With only two games on the slate Thursday night, you’re going to have options to spend big money on superstar players. Jeff Teague isn’t one of those players, but he may be the easiest draft choice of the evening.
Against the Lakers, Teague is going up against a team that is just 27th in DFS stopping point guards. Odds are, with Isaiah Thoms stepping in for Lonzo Ball, they’re going to play like the 30th team out of 30 franchises in that category.
Isaiah Thomas, LAL (@ MIN) $5.8k DK, $7.3k FD
Isaiah Thomas is looking for a redemption game. In his last outing, he was ejected in the first quarter following a confrontation with New Orleans point guard Rajon Rondo.
Against Minnesota—a team that is just 24th against point guards in DFS this season—he has a great opportunity to get that bounceback performance he needs, especially considering he’ll be on full display for a national television audience.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL (vs DEN), $10.7k DK, $11.7k FD
With so few teams in action on Thursday, there’s no need to fade Giannis Antetokounmpo. Yes, you’ll look like a genius if he somehow has a terrible night or gets injured, but that’s a risk that’s just not worth taking when he’s facing off against a Denver team that’s nearly in the bottom 10 of the league defending players at his position.
Trey Lyles, DEN (@MIL), $4.4k DK, $5k FD
Trey Lyles represents a risk, but drafting him at $4.4k is a far better way to separate your lineup during a short slate than fading someone like The Greek Freak. He’s coming off a bad game against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night, but he also averaged 29.9 FPTS (DK) in the four games prior to that dud.
Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN (vs LAL) $9.3k DK, $10.3k FD
If you’re smart with your roster and you can pull this off (a two-game slate drastically improves your chances), taking Antetokounmpo and Karl-Anthony Towns is what you need to do. Towns is $500 cheaper than the other elite center playing on Thursday (Nikola Jokic) and has a FPPG average of 44.6 compared to The Joker’s 42.4.
Against the Lakers, Towns enters with a ton of momentum on both ends of the court, including the three-point line. Brook Lopez won’t be able to contain him in this one.
- QST: Lonzo Ball, LAL, G [UPGRADES: Isaiah Thomas, Kentavious Caldwell-Popw]
- QST: Jamal Murray, DEN, G [UPGRADES: Wilson Chandler]
- OUT: Mason Plumlee, DEN, C [UPGRADES: Kenneth Faried]
One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
