Rajon Rondo, LAL (vs ATL), $5.5k DK
Lonzo Ball will be a game-time decision ahead of this contest. Rajon Rondo will play regardless, and he’ll have a field day against Trae Young or whoever else he’s facing, as the Atlanta Hawks are just 24th this season in DFS production from its guards.
Josh Hart, LAL (vs ATL) $4.4k DK
Among players who will cost you $4.4k or fewer on Sunday from the guard position, nobody is averaging better than 21 FPTS per game—except Josh Hart.
Hart, despite his cheap price tag, is posting nearly 24 FPTS per outing. Against a struggling Hawks defense, this will be easy money as far as value picks go.
Kent Bazemore, ATL (@ LAL), $5.8k DK
No, we’re not suggesting you stack this entire Hawks vs. Lakers contest. But Kent Bazemore has a chance to exploit a very weak Lakers defense. Los Angeles should start seeing improvements with the recent signing of center Tyson Chandler, but Bazemore should be able to do plenty of damage against the perimeter defenders of the Lakers, who have struggled on that end of the floor quite a bit this season.
Paul Millsap, DEN (vs MIL), $4.5k DK
As of this writing, no game on Sunday has a higher projected over/under point total than the Charlotte Hornets vs. Detroit Pistons. Unfortunately, if you’re doing a Featured Contest and not a Showdown, nobody from that game will be available.
With that in mind, we look at Milwaukee vs. Denver, which has the next-highest O/U, which is set at 221.
At this point, we’re considering Giannis Antetokounmpo an easy fade despite the high total. Denver’s defense has been shockingly good, to the point that for the majority of the year, it’s been the best in the NBA. So we look at the other roster, where Paul Millsap should be able to make an impact both inside and outside the three-point line—especially with Will Barton set to sit this out out.
Nikola Jokic, Den (vs MIL) $9.6k DK
Giannis will be the best overall player on the court Sunday night when Denver hosts Milwaukee, but while Denver’s elite defense could make life difficult on The Greek Freak (as well as his sharpshooter teammates), nobody on Milwaukee will have an answer for Jokic. The Joker comes in at $1.6k cheaper than Antetokounmpo, which makes him a legitimate value pickup here despite his $9.6k price tag.
One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
