NBA DFS: Guards

Damian Lillard, POR (@ DEN) Price: $8.8k DK, $9.3 FD

Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers head to Denver on Monday night, which is a good sign for Damian Lillard owners.

Not only are the Nuggets a bottom-10 team this season in defensive efficiency, but they also run about the same pace as Portland, meaning it’ll be a free-flowing game for Lillard.

If you’re looking for a slighlty cheaper option with nearly as much upside, Lillard’s teammate CJ McCollum is just $6.7k on DraftKings.

Lou Williams, LAC (vs MIN) Price: $8.5k DK, $9.2k FD

Sweet Lou. Sweet, Sweet Lou.

In his last outing, which happened to be against the elite defense of the Utah Jazz, Williams went for 65 FPTS in a 31-point, 10-steal, seven-assist, two-rebound performance. His three-point shot was unbelievably off that night (2-of-8), meaning he realistically should’ve been over 75.

Against Minnesota, Williams is playing against a team that is middle-of-the-pack in terms of DFS defense against guards, and even though the ‘Wolves will look to slow it down, the Clips’ top-10 pace should create plenty of extra possessions.

NBA DFS: Forwards

Jeremy Lamb, CHA (vs SAC) Price: $4.9k DK

If you’re looking for one of the night’s best value picks, look no further than Charlotte Hornets G/F Jeremy Lamb.

At just $4.9k, Lamb should exceed his value without question. In his last outing, he recorded nine points and 10 assists, totaling 28 FPTS.

DeMarcus Cousins, NOLA (vs CHI) Price: $10.9k DK, $11.5 FD

DeMarcus Cousins isn’t going to come cheap Monday night, but he’ll be worth it if you know your way around value picks (See: Jeremy Lamb above).

Cousins has averaged 54.8 FPTS per game this season, but he hasn’t hit that number in four outings. He’s due for a big night—especially against a team in Chicago that is just 22nd in FPTS defense vs. F/C, and also is just 24th in defensive efficiency.

NBA DFS: Centers

Bam Adebayo, MIA (@ HOU) Price: $3.9k DK, $4.4k FD

If someone like Cousins is going to take up enough of your budget that you need a second value pick, Bam Adebayo is your guy.

So far this season, Adebayo is averaging 17.4 FPTS per night, but in his last seven, he’s averaged 24.7 FPTS and has consistently hit the 20s while maxing out at 50.75 on Jan. 9.

Miami plays Houston on Monday—a team that is middle-of-the-pack in terms of defense and upper-echelon in pace.

There are going to be a lot of possessions in this one, which bodes well for a low-price big man who can impact both ends of the floor.

• OUT: Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL, F, $10.5k [UPGRADES: Malcom Grodon, Eric Bledsoe]
• DTD: Jimmy Butler, MIN, F, $9.3k [UPGRADES: Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Lou Williams]
• OUT: DeAndre Jordan, LAC, C, $7.3k [UPGRADES: Blake Griffin, Karl-Anthony Towns] 

One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.

Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
