Lou Williams, LAC (vs OKC) $5.8k DK
Lou Williams is great value at under $6k. Game 1 of the LA Clippers’ season was an odd one considering Boban Marjonovic—not Sweet Lou—ended up being the team’s leading scorer. But he was going at a weak defender in Nikola Jokic and will have to deal with the closes thing the NBA has to a Game of Thrones character in Steven Adams.
Expect a more Lou Williams-type performance from Lou Williams in this one Friday night.
Fred VanVleet, TOR (vs BOS), $4.6k DK
Fred VanVleet is another strong value option at the guard position. He’s a backup, but Toronto made a habit last season of playing him in most meaningful minutes—crunch time included, where he thrived—and that shouldn’t change this season.
At just over $4.5k, this is an easy choice. The Celtics are a strong defensive team, but they’re also trying to re-integrate Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward into the rotation.
VanVleet should far exceed his cost in this one.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL (vs IND), $11k DK
Now that we have our value picks out of the way, it’s time to shell out some serious cash at the forward spot.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is an MVP favorite this season, and it was clear why in Game 1 of the season. The Greek Freak went for 25 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists. He failed to knock down a three-pointer, but he took three, which is a good sign because embracing the long ball is what’s going to get him to that final level of eliteness.
The Pacers are a better team than advertised, but they’ll have no answer for Giannis on Friday night.
Paul George, OKC (@ LAC), $8.7k DK
If you’re feeling gun shy when it comes to forking out $11k on Antetokounmpo (you shouldn’t be, by the way, but if you are, we get it—that’s a lot of coin to give one player), or if you have another value play at center in mind, Paul George is your guy.
He scored 27 points on Tuesday with Russell Westbrook sidelined, and with Russ scheduled to miss this one as well, PG13 will have a field day against the Clips.
Enes Kanter, NYK (@ BKN) $7.4k DK
Enes Kanter is a bit of a risky pick, but only because of his price. Against the Brooklyn Nets, he’ll be going up against a young center in Jarrett Allen who, while having one of the higher ceilings among all young 5s, is still learning the ropes.
Kanter will give up opportunities to Allen for sure, but he’ll also take advantage of the youngster on the other end.
- OUT: Russell Westbrook, OKC, G [UPGRADES: Dennis Schroder, Paul George]
One last thing. Remember… at the end of the day if you can’t afford to gamble online OR play at Draft Kings and Fan Duel then STOP. We know most DFS players need action, heck we do too, so just bet what you can afford.
Don’t go chasing money in high dollar GPP’s. Stick to cash games, and try to play on bigger slates. Avoid those night time 2 games slates. Your bankroll will thank us later.
