Centers
Matt Duchene – NSH @ (VGK) — $6.4K DraftKings /$13.2K FantasyDraft
No team in the NHL has averaged more goals to start a season then Nashville Predators at over 4.5 GF a game. Duchene has formed amazing chemistry with winger Filip Forsberg.
Adding Duchene to your roster tonight isn’t going to break the bank either, being very reasonably priced for center, playing over 20 mins a game and with 9 points and 14 SOG’s in the first 5 games to start the season, he’s well worth the price tonight.
Even though he’s going up against a Knights team that has been stingy with giving up goals, Duchene has been driving his line and he should get plenty of chances to put up a few points tonight.
Phillip Danault – MTL vs. (TB) — $4.4K DraftKings /$8.7K FantasyDraft
Hands up if you had Danault as the first line center to start the season in Montreal. He’s making the most of his 18+ minutes a game, playing with Gallagher and Tatar.
The only bonus at this price was if Danault was seeing a bit of PP time, but with 3 points in the last 2 games he’s paying with a hot hand.
With the Canadiens going up against a Tampa team that seems to have forgotten how to play defense, Danault looks to be in a good spot.

Wingers
Nikita Kucherov – TB @ (MTL) — $7.7K DraftKings /$16.2K FantasyDraft
Kucherov at these prices? Sign me up. Even though he’s got off to a slow start (Kucherov standard anyways), he’s still averaging over a PPG in 5 games to start the year.
Keep in mind he was without Brayden Point as his center for the first 3 games. With Point back and a PP that again is top 10 in the league, I’d be all over Kucherov at these prices while I can.
Travis Konecny – PHI @ (CAL) — $5.3K DraftKings /$10.9K FantasyDraft
Ok, 6 points, 3 games, and a S% of 42.9? Clearly these numbers are not sustainable and he’s bound to cool off. But on a Philadelphia team that he’s seeing over 16 minutes a game in the second line and the #2 PP unit, he’s going to get the opportunity to keep up putting points.
He may be priced up a bit higher than I like, but I do like the match up against a Calgary team giving almost 3.5GA a game.
Defense
Dougie Hamilton – CAR @ (LAK) — $6.7K DraftKings /$13.6K FantasyDraft
Is Carolina for real? That’s what everyone seems to be asking around the NHL. After an amazing run in the playoffs last year, they seem to be continuing to roll. One reason is the play of Dougie Hamilton. He’s been absolutely on fire, sitting only being John Carlson in productivity to start the season. 4 games. 4 goals. 4 assists.19 SOG. 8 Blocked Shots. 23+ Minutes. That’s pretty OK I guess?
He’s putting these numbers up while still only on the #2 PP unit with the Hurricane team potting almost 4 goals a game. On the other hand, the Kings team that the Canes’ are up against tonight just can’t figure out how to keep the puck out of their own net. 26 goals against in just 5 games.
Filip Hronek – DET @ (VAN) — $3.9K DraftKings /$7.5K FantasyDraft
The player getting all of the attention in Detroit so far has been Anthony Mantha, which is well deserving. However, Hronek has been playing large minutes on a Red Wings team that’s looking like they’re on the right path with their rebuild.
His numbers may not be screaming roster to me, but if you’re short on available salary and need to slot in a D with some upside, Hronek is a solid play. You can do a lot worse than 20+ minutes a night, #2 PP time, on an up tempo Detroit team.
Goalies
Connor Hellebuyck (Probable) — WPG vs. (ARZ) — $8.3K DraftKings /$16.7K FantasyDraft
After a horrible game to start the season, Hellebuyck has been lights out over the last 3 games he’s started. .974 SV%, .950 SV%, .931 SV% respectively.
Hellebuyck seems to have become well aware that he needs to be on his A game every night if his Jets team has any sniff at the playoffs in the deadly competitive Central Division.
Plus, he’s going up against a Coyotes team that sits dead last in the NHL with goals scored with just 7 goals scored in 4 games, even though they are averaging over 30 shots a game.
