NFL Futures Feature – 2008 Houston Texans Wagering Outlook
The Houston Texans, (8-8 SU, 8-8 ATS, 9-6-1 O/U) were a team that made great strides in 20007, reaching the .500 mark by going 8-8, but more importantly, showed that the franchise is clearly heading in the right direction under offensive-minded head coach Gary Kubuiak.

Not only did the Texans do well on the field, but they also fared very well with their wagering statistics for the Top Sportsbooks online NFL sports wagering community, going a solid 8-8 against the spread, (ATS) and an even more impressive 9-6-1 in all Over/Under, (O/U) wagers.
The Texans were money in the bank at home last season, going an impressive 6-2 ATS at home but were the polar opposite on the road, going 2-6 ATS on the road.

Houston also posted solid O/U records both, at home, (4-4 O/U home) and on the road, (5-2-1 O/U road).
The Texans were respectable on offense with quarterback Matt Schaub leading the way as they ranked 14th in overall offense, including a No. 11 overall ranking with the team’s improved passing attack. To improve even more in 2008, the Texans will need to improve their 22nd-ranked rushing attack and have added veteran Chris Brown formerly of their AFC South division rival Tennessee Titans.
Defensively, Texas ranked just 24th overall, including unimpressive individual rankings of 24th with their pass defense and 19th with the run defense. The Titans allowed opponents to average a whopping 343.6 total yards of offense last season, but have added several players they think will help them address their defensive issues.
The Titans added veteran linebackers Roosevelt Colvin and Kevin Bentley, safety Nick Ferguson and cornerback Jimmy Williams before adding several young players through the 2008 NFL Draft that the Texans are expecting big things from in the near future.
Here is a look at the Texans’ 2008 Draft Picks, followed by their 2007 team statistics and 2008 NFL Odds in the Our best Sportsbooks.
