If either team wants to fulfill their playoff wishes however, they had better start winning consistently, something neither franchise has done at all this season.
Despite that fact, this week’s matchup could be the place to start for both clubs.
The Saints are ranked seventh in overall offense, averaging 350.8 yards and 21.2 points per game.
The Panthers have been much more offensively challenged this season, coming into this game ranked 25th in overall and averaging 300.5 yards and just 16.7 points per game
Defensively, the Saints are ranked 27th overall, allowing a whopping 355.9 yards and 24.6 points per game. Carolina, which has fielded perennial defensive juggernauts under head coach John Fox, is ranked 14th in overall defense, allowing 321.2 yards and 21.2 points per game.
The Saints lost to the Houston Texans 23-10 last week while the Panthers come into this contest off their own 31-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers last week.
