Football Wagering – Pro Bowl Action
Preview – Now that the smoked has cleared on a dynamic 2007-08 NFL season, that was capped off with an amazing Super Bowl, there’s one more page to turn before we close the book on a great NFL betting season. Sunday’s Pro Bowl is the last football betting event of the year and if you were among the thousands that got buried by New England, who failed to cover the spread in six of their last seven games including the Super Bowl XLII, this will be your chance to recover.
For Giants’ investors and fans, congrats! Your team, as the fourth-biggest puppy in Super Bowl history, became the 13th underdog to win the big game SU (straight up). If you’re among this money-making group the Pro Bowl provides a stellar opportunity to further build your bankroll.
For those who’ve never participated in Pro Bowl betting, you have to give it a try. It’s a must see game as the best NFL talent converge on one field to put on a spectacular show. It’s the best-of-the-best, NFC versus AFC and a contest riddled with stars and skill.
It’s an All-Star event of sorts but don’t be mislead on the level of competitiveness involved. With a bonus of major dollars at stake for the winning side, things become competitive which makes for a fantastic game, to say the least.
The Dallas Cowboys send the most representatives to the game with 11 players on the team for the NFC. New England and San Diego Chargers leads the AFC with 8 players chosen each.
But the best story of the Pro Bowl rosters has to be the announcement of Sean Taylor as the starting free safety for the NFC squad. As we all know, Taylor was gunned down in his Miami home this season and passed away from the injuries suffered.
Leading the NFC on offense under center will be Jeff Garcia of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who is replacing Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers as chosen starting quarterback. Minnesota Viking’s running back Adrian Peterson will carry the rock along with others. Terrell Owens of the Cowboys headlines a star-studded receiving corps.
Calling signals as starting quarterback for the AFC will be Tom Brady of the Patriots. Willis McGahee of the Baltimore Ravens, who’s replacing San Diego’s LaDainian Tomlinson, will be just one star leading the ground game. New Englands’ Randy Moss and Indianapolis Colts’ Reggie Wayne will be Brady’s primary starting targets at the receiver spot that includes many more huge names.
These are just a few of the big names starting on offense for each club. Defensively, the talent is immeasurable on both sides that has the daunting task of shutting down the potent offenses taking the field at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The AFC will be coached by Norv Turner of the Chargers staff, while Mike McCarthy of the Packers will coach the NFC.
Last year, the AFC out gunned the NFC in a 31-28 shootout. The AFC has won two of the last three Pro Bowls. Who will prevail this year? Find out Sunday, February 10 starting at 5:00pm EST. The talent is unprecedented and the betting action only adds to the excitement.
