Golfers hit North Carolina, Sweden
Tiger Woods is coming off a big performance in the final major tournament of the season, but if you want to do some golf betting this week you’re going to have to turn your attention to another golfer. And it probably won’t be to any of the big-name players.
The PGA Tour is staging the Wyndham Championship at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina this week. And although there aren’t many big names expected to be in the field in Greensboro this week, the tournament does have some significance – it is the last chance for golfers to qualify for the FedExCup postseason.
So along with the $5 million purse golfers will also be competing for the 25,000 FedExCup points this week. Davis Love III is the defending champion at this event, but he’s just tied for third spot on the PGA odds list for this tournament at +2200. K.J. Choi, the 2005 winner, is listed as the current favorite at +1000 odds, followed by Brandt Snedeker at +2000, and both Love and Lucas Glover at +2200. Pat Perez sits in fifth at +2500 odds.
The 2003 champion, Shigeki Maruyama, is also in the Wyndham Championship field this week; he’s sitting at +7000 odds to win. Here are the rest of the tourney faves . . .
