Probably the toughest game to call this week. The Lions apparently have God on their side, since Jon Kitna was touched by a miracle to return from a concussion. Meanwhile, all the Eagles have done is give their city a massive migraine. Yes, it’s Detroit on the road, but seven points seems like a lot for an Eagles team that got embarrassed by the Redskins.
The knock is more against Detroit’s defense more than Philly’s offense, which went 4-16 on third down conversions last week. Philly’s offense still lacks a true number one receiver and teams are keying off of Westbrook since McNabb’s knees stopped working last season.
One apparent sign of the apocalypse is a 3-0 start by the Lions. And who better to reign in what is already a chaotic NFL season then the four horseman of Johnson-Williams-McDonald-Furrey. The Philly defense is garbage and the Eagles secondary has taken serious injury hits with Lito Sheppard still on the table.
The Eagles are 1-3-1 AT in their past five. Not only are the betting faithful losing hope in Philly, the fans are booing their own team. Never a good sign. Detroit undefeated after week three? Clearly a sign of the apocalypse.
