NCAAB: Road profits rare for Jayhawks
Sportsbook.com: As profitable as the Kansas Jayhawks have been at home this season, they’ve been anything but a sure bet once they hit the road.
The Jayhawks, 14-7 against the spread this season, are just 3-4 ATS in road games. They look to reverse their fortunes against the Texas Longhorns on ESPN in the second half of Monday’s double-header. Tip-off is set for 9pm ET.

Kansas has struggled against Texas in recent meetings, covering just one of the previous four meetings despite winning three of those straight up.
The Jayhawks, 22-1 overall, failed to cover their last three road games but entered Saturday’s home contest against Baylor as the first-place team in the Big 12 with a 7-1 conference record. Texas, at 5-2 in conference play, was third heading into weekend play.
Kansas started the weekend as the fifth-ranked team in the country, dropping from the #2 spot they held until ending January with an 84-75 loss to Kansas State.
Averaging 82.8 points per game, Kansas’ offense is as balanced as you’ll find in the NCAA. Ranked 10th in the country, sophomore Darrell Arthur scores 13.3 points per game and leads a group that features four players averaging at least 12 points a game.
As good as the Jayhawks are on offense, they’re equally good on defense. Coach Bill Self’s team plays hard at both ends of the court and make it tough for opposing teams to score. Limiting opponents to 38% field goal shooting, Kansas gives up just 60.2 points a game.
On Monday, they’ll focus on shutting down Texas guards, sophomore D.J. Augustin and junior A.J. Abrams. The two Longhorn stars combine for close to 60% of the team’s offense and to beat Texas you need to slow one of both of them.
Very few teams have been able to do that though. The Longhorns have only lost four times this season but even then, Augustin and Abrams usually find a way to score big. One team that had success slowing the duo was Texas A&M, who limited the pair to a combined 22 points in an 80-63 victory just over a week ago.
NCAAB Free Pick: You can bet that Kansas has reviewed the tape, but completely stalling either offense in this Big 12 rivalry will be difficult as these two teams have gone Over the total in the last three meetings.
