NFL Futures Feature – 2008 New York Giants Wagering Outlook
While many members of the Top Sportsbooks online NFL betting community already know that I was the only handicapper at BetUS – and likely the entire nation – to predict each and every New York Giants, (10-6 SU, 10-6 ATS, 8-8 O/U) 2007 postseason win in the Our best Sportsbooks last season, including their incredible Super Bowl victory over the supposedly unbeatable New England Patriots.
Last season’s NFL selections have absolutely no bearing on how well the Giants will do this season, both with their straight up record or overall football wagering statistics in the Our best Sportsbooks.
Nevertheless, the Giants will take the field in 2008, like every other NFL team, hoping for – and expecting – big things – and BetUS online NFL betting could cash in immensely by making the right picks on a game-by-game basis.
The Giants will enter the 2008 regular season with a new quarterback in Eli Manning, meaning, no longer will questions surrounding Manning’s ability – and brotherhood to Indianapolis Colts signal caller, Peyton – be prevalent in the young quarterback’s mind after leading his team to one of the greatest – and most improbable – wins in Super Bowl history, (despite the fact that I saw New York’s win coming like yesterday’s news).

Manning will be backed up by former first round bust David Carr, who has never been able to get his career on track after getting beaten unmercifully for years as the young leader of numerous atrocious Houston Texans’ teams.
The G-Men are also set at running back with Brandon Jacobs, (1,009 yards), improving each and every game and fullback Madison Hedgecock playing a solid complimentary role.
Kevin Boss, Michael Matthews and Jerome Collins will each have a chance to replace recently traded tight end Jeremy Shockey and the Giants also return every starter from their offensive line from a year ago and still have the makings of a solid receiving unit led by starters Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer.
The main reason why I picked the Giants to win all of their postseason games last season – New York’s powerful defensive line – is totally intact from a year ago minus the Hall of Fame-bound Michael Strahan who retired, and should be better than ever with arguably the best defensive end in the game in Osi Umenyiora leading the way and the team’s other defensive end, Justin Tuck quickly approaching All-Pro caliber status after recording 10 sacks in 2007 despite coming off the bench all season long.

Middle linebacker Antonio Pierce leads a competent, if not spectacular linebacking unit, though the loss of veteran Kawika Mitchell could sting a bit, while New York’s secondary is also in good shape with talented cornerbacks Aaron Ross and Corey Webster leading the way. The Giants also have reliable veterans in punter Jeff Feagles and kicker Lawrence Tynes.
New York added veteran wide receiver Craphonso Thorpe and linebacker Danny Clark in addition to backup signal caller David Carr and grabbed two defensive backs with their first two draft picks in first round pick, safety Kenny Phillips and second round pick cornerback Terrell Thomas.
More importantly for the Top Sportsbooks NFL online sports wagering community is the fact that the Giants posted stellar wagering statistics across the board, going 4-4 against the spread at home and 6-2 against the spread on the road while posting equally impressive numbers in their Over/Under wagers, going 6-2 O/U at home and 2-6 O/U on the road.
Here is a look at the Giants’ 2007 statistics, followed by their 2008 NFL draft picks and 2008 NFL Odds in the Our best Sportsbooks.
