A slow start to 2024 with a rebuilt roster saw the Roadrunners race out to a 3-5 record. But everything went a lot better after that, with the team rallying to a 7-6 record and a 44-15 thrashing of Coastal Carolina in the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

Quarterback Drew Mestemaker took over for veteran Chandler Morris as a freshman last year in the team’s bowl game and completed passes of 42, 46, and 57 yards, and broke a 70-yard touchdown run.
