NCAAF Betting Odds – Money Lines
No dogs last week so life was a little easier for me – back to the regular format of two dogs and two favorites.
Record: 24-7 (+2320)
Boise State Broncos (+125) @ Hawaii Warriors
Hawaii is a decent, particularly with Colt Brennan running the show and running up the score on any and every defense, but Boise State is the superior team. The Broncos have better defense and special teams, and their offense isn’t too shabby. More importantly, the Broncos have the experience of winning big games (see: Fiesta Bowl) whereas the Warriors are still raw in that aspect. Hawaii hasn’t faced anything that compares to a respectable team and even with the home field advantage this week, they will fall short.
Pick: Boise State +125
Clemson Tigers @ South Carolina Gamecocks (+120)
After a huge home loss last week, a game that Clemson was calling one of the biggest in nearly 25 years, expect the Tigers to still be stinging a little bit this week. South Carolina is in a slump but at least there won’t be any pressure on them as they try to pull the upset at home. The Tigers don’t play well under pressure and another good season is being threatened with a second consecutive week. Look for the ‘ol ball coach, Steve Spurrier, to pull a few tricks out of the bag and get this one done.
Pick: South Carolina +120
Miami Hurricanes @ Boston College Eagles (-600)
The Boston College Eagles are back in contention for the ACC title after back-to-back losses to Florida State and Maryland. They are hot, they are confident and they are focused. On the other hand, you have the Miami Hurricanes, who are an awful team right now. Talent aside, the Hurricanes are tearing apart in the locker room with senior players questioning the newer faces, and on the field, they can barely get through a drive without a turnover. The Eagles run defense is strong and will force the Hurricanes to be one-dimensional, which won’t be enough to get the job done for Miami.
Pick: Boston College -600
Connecticut Huskies @ West Virginia Mountaineers (-1000)
UConn is a nice team. They are a better team than most people want to give them credit for, but they are not better than Cincinnati. Like Cincinnati, they rely on turnovers to help out a mediocre offense, and as Cincinnati showed last week, that isn’t enough to complete the job against West Virginia. The Mountaineers are a very good team and their defense is underrated as well. If Cincy can’t stop them at home, Connecticut won’t be able to stop them in Morgantown.
