Event: UFC 271: Adesanya vs. Whittaker

Time: Main Card: 7:00 P.M. PST.
Location: Toyota Center, Houston Texas
Free UFC 271 Pick: Israel Adesanya -290 vs Robert Whittaker +230 (Bet Now!)
In a championship rematch of the century, we are thrilled to have two of greatest middleweights in modern time. Defending his throne is “The Last Stylebender” Israel Adesanya, who’s fresh off a dominant performance over top contender, Marvin Vettori.
The challenger, Robert Whittaker, will be looking to recapture his title from the man who stole it back in 2019. Impressively, Whittaker bounced back strong with three elite performances against top guys, and now looks poised to regain his crown.
Important to note, the challenger was well on his way to middleweight goat status, before running into the flashy kickboxing phenom, Adesanya. For substance, Whittaker is 12-1 in his last 13 fights, with his sole loss coming via TKO by the champion.
MMA Betting Prediction: Whittaker – Submission
In my opinion, professionals and bookmakers are sleeping on Robert Whittaker for this rematch. In Israel’s attempt at capturing double champ status, a clear blueprint was created for beating the undefeated beast.
A blueprint that Whittaker’s skillset favors if executed properly, and that’s surviving the early onslaught and taking the fight to the mat. A lot of people are unaware, he’s a national freestyle wrestling gold medalist in Australia and is a formidable BJJ black belt.
Give us the underdog to submit the champ in the later rounds, setting up a monumental trilogy in the future of the UFC.
Free UFC 271 Pick: Derrick Lewis -190 vs Tai Tuivasa +150 (Bet Now!)
In an absolute banger of a co-main event, we have two of the hardest hitters in the entire organization, clashing for potential number one contender status. The king of the revolting “shoey”, Tai Tuivasa(#11) faces a major step up in competition, via the greatest knockout artist in UFC history.
Derrick Lewis(#3) is currently coming off a devastating knockout win over Kyle Daukus, following his interim championship loss to Ciryl Gane. Prior to these scraps, Lewis was carrying a splendid four fight winning streak.
Regarding Tuivasa, he suffered a catastrophic three fight losing streak and faced getting cut by the UFC. However, Tai rebounded strong and is now on a four fight win streak, winning all fights by knockout.
MMA Prediction: Tuivasa – KO
Earlier in Tuivasa’s career, this fight would’ve been a wash in Lewis’ favor, because of his willingness to get hit. Since Tai’s losing streak, he’s been very good at avoiding the incoming knockout blows, while dishing out the final hit.
While this fight will most likely end up in a knockout, it could go either way, and for that we’re going to side with the underdog for the significantly higher value.
Free UFC 271 Pick: Jared Cannonier -200 vs Derek Brunson +155 (Bet Now!)
Luckily for MMA fans, this middleweight slobber-knocker has finally came to fruition. Derek Brunson(#4) enters the octagon on a five fight winning streak, dating back to his loss against current champion and the headliner on this card.
While favorite, Jared Cannonier(#3) is currently 4-1 in his last 5 fights, with his sole loss coming by the middleweight contender, Whittaker. Shocking fact about the aforementioned, he began his career in Alaska as a heavyweight and has now found his groove two weight classes down at middleweight.
MMA Prediction: Brunson – Decision
In the classic showdown of striker vs grappler, we’re going to have to side with the underdog and grappling specialist. During his recent winning streak, he’s proven the capability to shut down elite strikers in dominant fashion.
For instance, his last three wins have all came against competent stand up fighters, and he’s grinded them all until they break, then proceeds to either submit or knock them out via ground and pound.
