UFC Flash Forum 1 Picks
Ready for UFC Flash Forum 1 picks and betting odds & predictions? This UFC card will take place on Wednesday, July 15th with a headliner between Calvin Kattar vs. Dan Ige. This main event is not getting the notoriety it deserves. Being overshadowed by Usman/Masvidal and the flyweight championship, people are not batting an eye on this card. Those are the best for the degenerates. I went 8-4 at UFC 251, 10-4 if I did not stupidly take Yan and Usman off my slip. Anyways, short turnaround, lets rock.
Event: UFC Flash Forum: Kattar vs. Ige
Date: Saturday, July 15, 2020
Time: 7:00 P.M. EST.
Location: Flash Forum, Fight Island
Broadcast: ESPN+
Main Event: Calvin Kattar vs. Dan Ige
Free UFC Apex Picks – My goodness I love this fight. Calvin Kattar was my dark horse for the 145 pound division, and he made his case after demolishing long time incumbent Jeremy Stephens. He put himself in line for his first headliner and he will look to make good on it as a heft favorite.
Ige has had a successful 2020 campaign, winning both of his fights by decision. His most recent was a narrow decision against Edson Barboza. He was dropped early in round 1, but rallied and won the last two rounds with dominant combinations.
As for this fight, I have to pick Kattar for a few reasons. He owns advantages in both height and reach, has sincere knockout power for 145 pounds, and has 9 more professional fights. Besides all the obvious notations, I think Kattar is far better in the striking department. If a light Edson Barboza can drop Ige, I am confident Kattar can as well. Another reason Kattar has the upper hand is cardio. If this fight is to reach the 3rd or 4th round, Kattar has an upper echelon gas tank. Many thought he would have beaten Zabit if that fight were five rounds. For those reasons, I will take Kattar. Value prop is Kattar by KO/TKO for +180.
MMA Betting Prediction: Calvin Kattar
Tim Elliott vs. Ryan Benoit
Free UFC Apex Picks – This is one of the most forgettable co-main events in recent memory. In all fairness, this was not supposed to be in this slot, but nonetheless, it is not the most exciting bout. Elliott has lost his last three bouts, being submitted in two of them. Benoit has fought once in 2 years, and lost.
Elliott is the far superior grappler and should be able to shoot and change levels early and often. I think -120 is a good bet here, but be skeptic with price here.
MMA Betting Prediction: Tim Elliott
Jimmie Rivera vs. Cody Stamann
I love this fight. A late addition to this fight island card, Rivera will look to win his first bout in quite some time while Stamann will look to extend his win streak.
Rivera owns the advantage in the striking department, but Stamann impressed in his last bout against Kelleher.
Stamann is the better wrestler and I expect him to implement that. Rivera may win an early round by stuffing takedowns and using his straight jab, but I think Stamann wins, maybe by split decision.
MMA Betting Prediction: Cody Stamann (+) & Fight GTD
Molly McCann vs. Talia Santos
Free UFC Apex Picks – Santos owns the advantage in the height and reach advantage and is coming off a loss, but McCann has won three in a row.
Expect this fight to stay standing. McCann usually picks her shots and attempts to stay at distance. Santos, though, has a significant reach advantage and sincere knockout power. I like the underdog here.
MMA Betting Prediction: Talia Santos (+)
