UFC Apex Picks
Ready for UFC Apex picks and betting odds & predictions? This UFC card will take place on a Saturday, May 30th with a welterweight headliner between former champion Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns. Although this card is not as eye-popping as its predecessors, it is filled with a intriguing fights, especially on the gambling side of things. As for myself, I have been indulging into the bitterness that is Russian ping pong and dabbling in Korean baseball. Needless to say, I am ready for this card.
Event: UFC Apex: Woodley vs. Burns
Date: Saturday, May 30, 2020
Time: 6:00 P.M. EST.
Location: Apex Gym, Nevada
Broadcast: ESPN+
Main Event: Tyron Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns
Free UFC Apex Picks – Tyron Woodley will making his first appearance in the octagon since losing his belt to Kamaru Usman well over a year ago. In that fight, he didn’t portray the Woodley we have been accustomed to. The powerful right hands and infamous double leg takedowns were simply negated. He will look to get back into the win column here as a -185 favorite.
He will be doing so against rising 170 pound contender Gilbert Burns. Burns quickly landed himself into the top 10 of the division after wins against Gunnar Nelson and most recently, Demian Maia.
From a betting perspective, this fight seems easy. Perhaps too easy. Each and every time the MMA community and vast majority of the public back a line, it seems to never pan out. I hope that trend breaks here as Woodley will be, by far, the best competition Burns has faced since entering the UFC. I am not sure if I expect Woodley to stop him, but I think Woodley outclasses him whether this fight is majorly on the feet or the canvas.
MMA Betting Prediction: Tyron Woodley
Blagoy Ivanov vs. Augusto Sakai
Free UFC Apex Picks -Although he lost his last fight by a narrow decision, Ivanov has impressed in his recent fights. He proved he can take an ample amount of damage and still charge forward.
Sakai is one of the very few promising, young heavyweight contenders. He won his last fight by first round finish and won his fight before that by decision.
If last UFC event proved nothing, heavyweight bets are dicey to bet on. It really is a crap shoot on who will come out on top, and I think the near even lines here proves that. I will take Ivanov as the more experienced fighter.
MMA Betting Prediction: Blagoy Ivanov (+)
Kevin Holland vs. Daniel Rodriguez
In one of the quickest turnarounds in UFC history, Holland will return to the octagon just 14 days after his last bout, where he won by first round knockout.
Roriguez will be taking on Holland after his impressive submission win against Tim Means. Holland has proved to have trouble with opposition with superior ground game in the past, but he has the upper hand on the feet.
I will not fault anyone for taking Rodriguez as the value lies solely with him, but after his last performance, I will back Holland here.
MMA Betting Prediction: Kevin Holland
Roosevelt Roberts vs. Brok Weaver
Free UFC Apex Picks – Roberts is currently a -320 favorite, which I think is completely off-base. Although he won his last fight decisively, Weaver has the upper hand in experience and their intangibles are nearly identical.
Weaver’s last fight ended by way of disqualification, but he proved himself worthy of a roster spot via the Contender Series.
As for the fight, I think both guys can charge forward, but preserve energy and be mindful on the defense. I like this fight to go the distance +150, but for the sake of the blog, I will side with RR.
