The co-main event will be the women flyweight championship between Valentina Shevchenko and Kaitlyn Chookagian.

Main Event: Jon Jones (-460) vs. Dominick Reyes (+360)
Free UFC 247 Picks – Jon Jones will look to defend his light heavyweight belt for the first time in 2020 against undefeated newcomer Dominick Reyes. Jones fought three times in 8 months and this will be his first fight since July when he narrowly beat Thiago Santos. A supported public opinion was that Santos actually won and many wondered why Jones didn’t bring the fight to the mat as the superior wrestler. Jones may look to take this fight to the mat if he gets in any trouble on the feet.
Reyes is coming off a first round knockout win against former champion Chris Weidman. Before that, he beat Volkan Oezdemir by split decision. The vast majority of viewers had him losing the fight, but the judges thought differently. He is 6-0 in the UFC with four stoppage wins. The uncertainty of just how good Reyes is explains the odds, as Jones is far beyond the best fighter Reyes has faced. I know anyone can win on any given night, but I don’t see any angle that ends with Reyes winning.
MMA Betting Prediction: Jon Jones
Valentina Shevchenko (-950) vs. Kaitlyn Chookagian (+650)
Free UFC 247 Picks – Shevchenko has proved time and time again just how good she is. Most recently, she dominated Liz Carmouche in August, which was her second title defense of 2019. She is one of the very few exciting fighters in the women’s flyweight division and looks to retain her belt against Chookagian.
Chookagian received a title shot solely because of the lack of options. She won both of her 2019 fights by decision in somewhat boring fashion. Her two career losses come against two fighters that Shevchenko beat in decisive fashion. I don’t see anyway Shevchenko loses this one.
MMA Betting Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko
Juan Adams (-235) vs. Justin Tafa (+200)
Free UFC 247 Picks – How this fight is on the main card is somewhat baffling, but we will roll with it. Adams has lost his last two fights, most recently losing to Greg Hardy by first round TKO. He showed promise when he got an opportunity on Dana White’s Tuesday Contender Series, so he is hoping that success returns.
Tafa made his promotional debut in October and was sent to the moon when he was knocked out in the first round. As for this fight, there simply isn’t enough to judge these two on. We have seen more of Adams, but -235 for someone coming off consecutive losses is extreme. I wont be touching this fight, but for the sake of the blog, I’ll take Adams.

Mirsad Bektic (-140) vs. Dan Ige (+115)
Free UFC 247 Picks – Bektic has lost two of his last four fights, most recently losing to Josh Emmett by utter domination. Ige joined the UFC via DWTNCS, and has went 4-1 since then. I like the value behind Ige as I like his grappling and reach advantage here.

Derrick Lewis (-280) vs. Ilir Latifi (+230)
Free UFC 247 Picks – This fight was a bit puzzling on the match maker side of it. Latifi is moving up the heavyweight divison from the light heavyweight divison, where he was one of the smallest fighters. Matching him up with a killer like Lewis is somewhat puzzling, especially after his impressive win at UFC 244. I will take Lewis here.
