Newcastle have been really inconsistent so far this year and they seem to be playing up and down to their competition. They have had a 1 goal win against Tottenham, a one goal loss against Arsenal and a one goal win against Manchester United.
So although Chelsea might be better than those three teams, it is not a smart bet to lay a ton of juice with big teams against this Newcastle side. The reason they have these results is because of their style of play.
They love to get 5 at the back and go with a sole striker up front who will usually be Joelinton who they can just clear the ball out to. This makes them really hard to break down and if Newcastle is able to take the one or two chances they get in the game they can beat the teams in the top 6.
Chelsea
Chelsea has had a really weird season as many people thought they would not end up in the top six because of their transfer ban. It is, however, starting to look like that was a blessing in disguise as they have a ton of young talent that has been firing for them this season.
That talent certainly would not have had the chance to shine if Chelsea would have spent their normal summer budget on new players.
Guys like Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount have been outstanding in the starting 11 and Cristian Pulisic is starting to look more comfortable in the EPL coming off of the bench.

These are also the types of young players who do not have tons of ups and downs as they still give 100% in every game and expect that to be the same here in front of the home faithful this Saturday.

I think Chelsea will get the job done here, but I don’t see a ton of goals as Newcastle’s style of play does not really allow an open game.
Look for Chelsea to boss most of the game and for them to capitalize on a chance from set pieces as they are quite strong in that area.
I don’t expect Newcastle to score as they just don’t have anywhere near the firepower to trouble this Chelsea backline even though it is not the strongest in the league.
