The Netherlands easily overcame North Macedonia in the final match of the group stage and finished at the top of their group. They will now have a theoretically easy job in the round of 16, as they avoided any big names and are up against the Czech Republic.
The Czech Republic played a very dull match against England in the final match and eventually finished 3rd in that group.
Netherlands
The Netherlands didn’t even need the win in order to qualify, but they did a great job to beat North Macedonia by 3-0.
They took an early lead at the 24th minute with Depay, while Wijnaldum scored two second-half goals, which were both assisted by Depay.
That was their second consecutive clean sheet, which goes to show that their shaky defense really shaped up after the return of the (injured in the first match) De Ligt. Of course, the Netherlands played against Austria and North Macedonia in those two matches, but it might be a sign that they stabilized their defense.
The Netherlands have only lost to Turkey in their last 10 competitive matches in all competitions (7-1-2), but have kept just 5 clean sheets in the process (against North Macedonia, Austria, Gibraltar, Latvia and Bosnia & Herzegovina).
Czech Republic
The Czech Republic were sitting at the top of the group prior to their match against England, and a draw or a win would see them through as the top seed.
But the top seed is now up against Germany, so the Czech Republic’s loss to England might have worked wonders.
Having to play against Germany would be a huge task, but the Netherlands are a much more favourable match-up for the Czech Republic. However, their defense will still be tested by the Netherlands, as the Czech Republic have only kept clean sheets against Scotland, Slovakia, Israel and Montenegro in their last 20 matches in all competitions.
However, they have only failed to score in 4 of those 20 matches, and with a red-hot Patrik Schick, the Czechs will be looking to break down the Netherland’s defense. This is a huge match for the Czech Republic, so I expect them to show up.

Neither team could have hoped for a better draw, as they both avoided the best teams in this tournament. They are both happy to reach the round of 16 and they will both fight for a place in the quarter-finals.
But the Netherlands have showed better signs so far in the tournament, especially after the return of De Ligt in their stating lineup. He has provided some much-needed stability, and the Czech Republic to win this one need to show just how dangerous they can be.
The Netherlands have the upper hand regarding the win here, so the -0.75 is playable, along with the Over 2.5 Goals.
