The Champions League quarter-final stage continues this Saturday when Lyon and Manchester City play at Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal.

Lyon have had a bitterly disappointing Ligue 1 campaign finishing outside the European positions in 7th. A lot of that can be erased with a win over Manchester City, but they very well may be playing this year’s champions, so it won’t be an easy task.

Lyon were decent in their last game against Juventus, especially in the first 20 minutes or so, but you could see the French side get tired towards the end of that contest and they cannot afford to let that happen against City as they have the pace to capitalize.
Manchester City
Manchester City also had a disappointing domestic campaign finishing second to Liverpool in a season they went in as favorites to win. The team is littered with talent from Emerson, Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.
They are prohibitive favorites in this one as they should be as they are many levels ahead of Lyon at this moment in time. City are coming off a relatively comfortable game against Real Madrid where they dominated a lot of the game and were able to cash in on two errors from Raphael Varane booking there ticket to the quarters.
They should be full of confidence going into this one and with the worlds best midfielder in Kevin de Bruyne pulling the strings for them they should be able to get by Lyon with ease.

This should be a rough outing for Lyon and Manchester City has no problem building confidence and running up the score, so I wouldn’t be surprised with City scoring 3 or 4 here.
