Quite possibly the most exciting game of the year awaits us this coming Friday when Barcelona and Bayern meet in Lisbon at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon for their Champions League quarter-final match.
FC Barcelona
Barcelona finished second in La Liga this year and seemingly have had troubles for most of the year. La Liga is not one of those leagues where you essentially know the winner of the league before it begins, but it was quite a surprise personally to see Real Madrid top the Catalan Giants.
Griezmann was an expensive transfer in the summer and he has not been himself since coming to Barcelona and now they are in a position where they will need to sell some players before they can build on the squad due to financial fair play rules. Griezmann has not been the only player slumping, but when you are signed for over 100 million euros it will come with some expectations.

Barcelona’s main weapon will obviously be Messi for this one and he certainly has not been in a slump given the fact that he is called on to carry this team almost on a weekly basis. Bayern are big favorites for this one, but you can never count out any team who has Leo, as he has unbelievable ability to single-handedly open up the opposing defense.
The biggest reason, though, that Barcelona have not been great is their ageing defense and full-backs who are significantly more offensive minded. They now face what is likely to be the best offense in the world and it is very hard to imagine them being able to keep the Bavarians off the scoresheet here.
Bayern Munich
The thought of winning the Champions League for Bayern when Niko Kovac was sacked half way through the season was a pipe dream, but now with Hansi Flick at the helm it looks as though that is a very real possibility. Bayern have been on fire since Flick took over easily winning the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal while easily handling Chelsea in the Champions League.
The Bayern attack is stacked with Lewandowski leading the charge up front which is backed up with the wing play of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman who are all extremely dangerous in front of goal.
Although the Bayern offense has been great, we should consider the play of their defense in recent times as another reason for their continued success. The play of Jerome Boateng has been incredible as he has revitalized his career, as well as Canadian international Alphonso Davies who has pace for days.

Bayern Munich are big favorites here, and they should be. I feel like the -106 price on them to win in regulation time is only available because of the name Barcelona, as I think Bayern should be in the -170/-180 range.
That, for me, makes Bayern a great bet that provides plenty of value and it would not surprise me if this one gets out of hand, so looking at your sportsbook’s alternative handicap lines may be worth looking at.
