An important mid-table clash takes place this Wednesday, as Everton heads out on the road to take on Leeds United at Elland Road.

Everton was doing incredibly well early on this year, as James Rodriguez looked like an absolute revelation for the team, but that hot start has not lasted and Everton now find themselves all the way back in 9th place. That is not terrible considering where this Everton squad was last year, but I think this team has eyes on a top 7 finish in order to get back into the Europa League or Champions League.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin also has been fantastic once again, as he already has 11 goals and does not appear to be slowing down despite Everton being shut-out in their last game against Newcastle. Look for James Rodriguez to once again pull the strings in the midfield and look to unlock passing lanes against this poor Leeds defense.
Leeds United
That really has been the issue for Leeds is their defense has just not been able to get it together conceding 36 goals already. That is certainly balanced out a bit by a really solid offense, but in soccer it is always easier to prevent a goal as opposed to scoring one.
This Leeds United club should be riding high as well coming off of a solid 3-1 victory over Leicester City and once again Patrick Bamford was amongst the goals which was not a surprise, as he also has scored 11 goals this season. Marcelo Bielsa should go right back to a 4-1-4-1 formation with Bamford yet again leading the charge up front, as that has been the typical formation for this side this year.
